Hi,
Over the next three lessons we will be focusing on the major muscles of the back.
In this section we will be focusing on the major muscles of the Back. We will cover;
In the first week we will practice the Trapezius, Levator Scapulae, Supraspinatus and Infraspinatus.
It is important not to rush the course. Spend a week on each video so that you have time to practice. Practice your listening by watching the video. Practice your pronunciation by listening to the audio files and repeating the terms used. And most importantly, practice while you are giving people a massage.
This is important because by talking to your clients, you will build a stronger relationship with them. They will come to trust you more and so will want to come back as repeat customers.
To start with you could simply say, “I notice you have a lot of tension in your trapezius.”
As you become more confident, and to keep the conversation going you could then ask, “What do you do for work? Do you spend a lot of your time at a desk? Or a lot of time lifting?”
Many office workers and laborers often have tension in the shoulders and neck, which may be held in the trapezius, or levator scapulae.
Practice talking to your clients, because this will build your confidence as well as build the relationship with your client.
So, be sure to download the audio files for your practice, and the writing practice sheets. Watch the video as often as you like to reinforce your knowledge of the muscles.
I trust you will enjoy the course and I know that this will bring benefits to you, to your clients and to your business.
See you in the next lesson.

In massage therapy, building a strong, caring professional relationship with your clients is very important. In fact many will say it is all important, because it means you provide good quality service and you understand the needs of your clients.
To build this relationship it is important that your clients trust you. That they trust your work, that you give a good massage, and that they understand that you know about their body.
One excellent way to show how much you know about their body is to talk to them about the muscles while you are working on them.
This course is designed to help you to be able to practice those specific terms, the names of the muscles, so that you can use them in your clinic. While you talk to your client about the muscles they will learn more about themselves and they will learn to trust you more.
When you have a good relationship with your client, it will help build your business as they are more likely to come back to you and they will refer their friends.
