Description

The Cervical Cancer Community Health Workers Training developed by Equal Hope, Rush University Medical Center, and the University of Chicago. This training is specific for CHWs to become familiar with cervical cancer health and navigating the health care system in Chicago. By the end of this course, you will receive a certificate if you complete all modules and tests. The course will cover the following areas: history of HPV and cervical cancer, HPV infection and HPV-related disease, control and prevention of cervical cancer, current screening options, cervical cancer prevention strategies, diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer, navigation of the Chicago health care system, and insurance types.

Equal Hope outreaches to women all across Metro Chicago and in particular to the areas where there are the highest occurrence and death rates for breast and cervical cancer.

Our staff educate the public on the signs and symptoms of these diseases, what you can do to prevent or lower your risk of these disease, the benefits of screening to either find pre-cancer or early cancer, what you should know about these screens and much more.

Equal Hope can get you free or low cost breastcare – a mammogram, diagnostic follow up or treatment if you need it. Even if you have insurance or Medicaid, we can still help you get scheduled and get the care you need.
