    The course begins with CORE (the most important) and continues through Type 3.  Each part is clearly defined.

  • Core25:35

    The core section of the EPA exam must be passed in order to pass any other sections of the exam. Please pay particular attention in this section.

  • Type 15:51

    Type 1 systems are factory sealed and contain less than 5 lbs of refrigeratn. These not include mini-splits or auto hvac (MVAC).

  • Type 28:10

    Type 2 systems are system containing 5+ lbs of refrigerant or systems that require charging upon installation.

  • Type 36:34

    Type 3 systems are systems that operate at 30 PSI or less.

Description

This course is designed for anyone wishing to pass the EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification Exam. The course gets right to the point and doesn't focus on anything that the student doesn't need to know. It is presented in modules that being with CORE and continue into Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3. The instructor is EPA certified Section 608 and is a certified test proctor. He has been in the HVAC/R industry for 25 years.


Each module will explain the basic elements of the test. The test is broken up into four, 25 questions modules for a total of 100 questions. You must pass the core to pass any of the rest of the exam. After the core is passed, each individual "type" is pass/fail on its own. The test must be taken in front of a test proctor in person. It is closed book, however you may have a temperature/pressure chart with you. No cellular phones are permitted to be on the table or out while taking the test and you may not leave for a restroom break. As long as you pass the core you can retake any of the other sections that you don't pass.
