Learners in this course will learn how to navigate and identify some of the critical issues relating to environmental awareness and sustainability. Students will learn how to ask important and relevant questions when addressing the environment and climate change. This course gives a clear and basic framework that allows learners to think in a clear and concise manner when climate-related issues are brought up. Learners will also learn to identify the different kinds of effects caused by climate change including effects on human health, effects on infrastructure, effects on the ecosystem and effects on the physical environment.
This course will also teach students how to recognize the various types of climate change mitigation available methods. These activities are grouped into two categories: mitigation (efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions or increase carbon sinks) and adaptation (efforts to respond to changing climatic conditions) (preparation for climate impacts). We'll examine the technologies, programs, and policies used in both mitigation and adaptation.
