As per the dictionary, an entrepreneur is a person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit. New entrepreneurs are motivated by the desire for fulfillment. They come into being because of the possibility of making and marketing some new product for the use of customers. If the product is developed to the saleable stage, the entrepreneur is further motivated by reward in terms of profit. This course is for the beginner who wants to know the basic structure of the business and the skill set required for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. Here I have explained basic requirements or key elements to run the business. This includes Marketing, sales, operation, accounts, human resources, and research and development. In addition to that, I quick requirement of the skills set as a student entrepreneur is also explained at the end. Most of the students asked me what basic structure should I keep running my business. Or How should I start or steps into a business environment?. I supposed this course is the answer for all those who were keen on starting something new. Most of the businesses/Startup fails or shut down their operation in initial years. this happens because of insufficient understanding and foundation. This course will surely enable them and give them an idea of what basic elements or key positions need to run a business or Industry.

I am working as an assistant professor at K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education & Research, Nashik, India, department of mechanical engineering. For the last 6 years, I am heading the entrepreneurship development cell in the institute. I have initiated and developed an Innovation ecosystem of entrepreneurship cell. I supervised undergraduate student projects. I worked on more than 18 such projects, where I contributed as a Project guide. I provided all necessary input right from conceptual design to manufacturing. Apart from this, I am a coordinator of Industry cell, an initiative of Indo-German collaboration to promote industry-academia collaboration. Industry cell is monitor by local industry association i.e. Nashik Industries and Manufacturers Associations through its Innovation Facilitation Center. The cell aims to create a local innovation ecosystem. As coordinator of industry cell, I successfully coordinated more than 15 industry research/innovative interdisciplinary student projects out of which one project got an appreciation award in Innovation Summit 2019. Also, I have led as entrepreneurship development cell coordinator in the Institute since 2016, with more than 350 student's participation each year. More than 50 catalytic events on innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property were organized that nurtured the innovation ecosystem in the institute. I am proud to mention in my tenure my students started startups on water management and water budget named Ekkatam Innovation Pvt Ltd, and Bupp-A Noise pollution control and awareness app, and one on an electrical vehicle.
