  • Welcome Video – With TBOG, Managing Partner at TSAGEandTBOG Consult11:25

My name is Temitope Omoakhalen but I am fondly called TBOG. I am a Family and Corporate Wellness Instructor, Coach, and Consultant. I am a certified physiologist from the University of Lagos, Nigeria with certifications in Developmental and Social Psychology from The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. I am also the Managing Partner of TSAGEandTBOG Consult, a family and workplace wellness company that facilitates lifelong growth through wellness, wholeness, and winning solutions and we execute this mandate using our uniquely designed 6-8-10 methodology by offering services aimed at the holistic development of the adolescent in eight dimensions while equipping adolescent managers with the tools required to navigate the intricacies of adolescent management. All that we are and all that we care about are contained in the e-brochure on the learning platform.

In this course, you will encounter seven big modules. Here is a quick run-down of what to expect in this course.

Module One: How to know your child is now an adolescent? Module 1 prepares you to identify the commencement of the transition from childhood into adulthood. During adolescence, the terms of engagement greatly differ. If you do not know the cue to the commencement of adolescence, how do we as parents know when to change the modus operandi of our relationship with our emerging adolescents?

Module Two: The Adolescent Wellness Quotient; How Well is your Adolescent? We have become all too familiar with intelligence and emotional quotients (IQ & EQ). This module introduces you to the adolescent wellness quotient [AWe-Q]. Do you know the dimensions of wellness? How well is your adolescent thriving in all the dimensions of wellness?

Module Three: Unveiling the Top Difficulties Adolescents Face I have met many parents who find it difficult to believe that adolescents are capable of being sucked into a whirlwind of emotions. You hear them say things like, “as small as you are, what are you thinking about?” In this module, we unveil the common difficulties adolescents face and how much you can be of help to prevent or minimize them.

Module Four: Why They Act the Way they do Adolescence can be frustrating for many parents but this module gives you a physiological and psychological explanation as to why our adolescents act in certain ways, oftentimes completely childish. This module explains the 'why'. Remember, the right knowledge equips you to better manage your relationship with them.

Module Five: The Adolescent Ecosystem; The Collaborators and the Competitors This module takes you into the adolescent ecosystem. I have been asked this question, “TBOG what is my son always doing on his phone? My teenage son barely speaks to me. My daughter responds with a one-liner to questions I ask” In this module, those questions are answered and a whole lot more! You find out those who are in competition with you over your child’s all-round development. Plus, I need to add this, “yes, there are competitors and collaborators around you that you just might not have taken notice of”

Module Six: Why are the Competitors Winning? When you understand who your competitors are, it gives you a level playing ground and you can reverse engineer their operations. Unfortunately, your competitors have been winning for so long that you'll need to buckle up. This module shows you how they do it and points you in the direction of what you can do to regain dominance

Module Seven: Flipping the Narrative; how to use your competitor’s model to your advantage This module shows you how to use your competitor’s model to your advantage so as to win the love, trust and friendship of your budding adolescent.

In the course of my work, I have found that the recurring challenges encountered by every generation of adolescent managers, including parents, teachers, school administrators and counsellors, with respect to successful adolescent management, have been occasioned by gaps in the evolution of tools appropriate to the given generation of adolescents. An unconventional generation of adolescents needs unconventional management strategies. These gaps in adolescent management strategies have further widened the gulf between adolescents and their managers while perpetuating adolescent-related social problems such as depression, drug addiction, risky sexual behaviours, violence and suicide.
