Discover packaged and ductless dx hvac options for low-rise buildings, including rooftop and split package units, direct expansion versus indirect systems, and efficiency guidelines (eer, seer).
Intro to the dd wizard and navigator in energy modelling with eQuest, showing the schematic and design development modes, project setup, building categories, utilities, seasons, and multi-building configurations.
Define and manage up to three seasons in the DD Wizard for energy modelling in eQuest. Select date ranges and optional holidays to create season-specific operating schedules for buildings.
Edit shell in DD Wizard, learn to set building type and footprint, apply floor multipliers, define orientation and glazing, and configure building operation schedules for different occupancies.
Explore activity area allocation in the DD Wizard of eQuest, configuring occupancy profiles across seasons, days of week, and office categories to model building energy use.
Learn how to define and manage zone groups in the DD Wizard for energy modeling with eQuest, including selecting zones, assigning perimeters and floors, and configuring activity area types.
Select non-electric loads in the dd wizard, including interior and exterior lighting and office equipment, to model building energy use and load profiles for servers and water heating.
Learn to add HVAC systems in the eQuest dd wizard, choose expansion point or chiller water options, define heating sources, and assign systems to zones and seasons.
Explore detailed data edits in energy modelling with eQuest, comparing modeling methods, navigating the action tab, adjusting components, and simulating building performance for compliance and efficiency.
Explore the building in 3D with the Equass modeling software, rotating for 360-degree views and switching between mesh and solid displays, then edit a garage door’s properties.
Module 5
The Module consist total 10 Lecture which teaches in the following way..
Lecture 1 : This lecture is about Theory about Packaged & Ductless HVAC system for Buildings. eQuest allows us to create HVAC system according to Zoning of the building weather it is single zone or multiple zone.
Lecture 2 : This lecture is about Deign Development Wizard of eQuest Software. Generally this Wizard allows you Design more Flexible, Multi shell Buildings that requires more detailed advanced HVAC systems.
Lecture 3 : This lecture is about Seasons & Scheduling in DD Wizard. Normally, Scheduling describes the Building Systems running status throughout a Day, A Month, A Year and based on, The Simulation process takes place.
Lecture 4: This lecture is all about Building Shell. How to do editing of the shell as well specifying of the building orientation & Coordination of the building structure.
Lecture 5 : This Lecture is about Activity area Allocation based on Occupation in DD wizard. Generally in this wizard, we can assign this Allocation to multiple Shells at one time as per requirements.
Lecture 6 : This lecture is about Zone Grouping. It is the process in which we adjoints the building rooms (zones) into a particular HVAC system for better performance & efficiency
Lecture 7 : This Lecture is about how add HVAC system in the DD Wizard. In DD Wizard you can design complex and more advanced HVAC system as well as multiple system at one time.
Lecture 8 : This lecture is about the load which are not associate with the Building. These Loads are Computer loads, Miscellaneous Loads, Motors, Refrigerators, Cooking equipment's, Servers etc. they also contributes in the Simulation Process of the building if so.
Lecture 9 : This lecture is about Detail Edit Mode. This Mode basically allows you to Modification of Walls, Child Components, HVAC Systems, Schedules, Construction & Many More.
Lecture 10 : This Lecture is about Viewing of the Model. Basically eQuest allows you to view Model from 2D-3D perspective with centre to building origin. As well as a excel type Spreadsheet allows you to renaming of zones as well as System Modification as per requirements.
The course is useful to Architects and Engineers who wish to perform Energy Modelling of Building. Total 10 module course gives hand on practice to create the building, to apply energy efficiency measure and to predict the building performance before it is made. It is a consolidated course to understand Energy Modelling from scratch and to be expert in the same. All modules have explanation videos about What is energy modelling followed by details of eQuest software. While learning you may practice on your PC or laptop to understand the procedure and get on hand training.
