The challenge for this week is to try out your newest knowledge about active listening. The next time you’re talking to someone keep a mind check on whether you are actually listening to them. After a conversation with someone you can do a little review: Did I listen to the other person? Did I make them feel like they are being listened to by using my body language and follow-up questions? You can either write down the answers into your journal or even create a new note in your phone where you write up your thoughts.
In this part of the online course, we will explore emotional intelligence in relation to social feedback. After watching this video you will know about the XYZ technique and how to use it to give emotionally intelligent social feedback to the people around you.

Challenge time! Think of a situation when someone triggered a certain emotion and you didn’t like it. Write it down and then write down how you could respond using the XYZ technique.
