It is about introduction of EMG, History of EMG & Pattern of EMG.
Structure of skeletal muscle is explained in detail. Chemical events of contraction of muscle are described.
Introduction of nervous system , classification of nerves& structure of neuron is explained in detail.
Types of contraction of muscle ,neuromuscular junction &its role in transmission of impulse from motor neuron to skeletal muscle is described in this lecture.
General block diagram of EMG machine with required specifications for optimum output is explained in this section.
In this chapter EMG measurement techniques are described in detail along with types of electrodes used for measurement. In This topic various conditions in which EMG is used for diagnosis i.e applications of EMG are discussed.
This course comprises of 6 chapters.
In first chapter introduction about EMG ,history of it and development stages of EMG machine is described.
In second chapter basic types of muscles, property of skeletal muscle, role of skeletal muscle and importance of it, structure of the skeletal muscle is explained with relevant diagrams. In Sliding filament theory various steps involve in muscle contraction and how chemical events causes initiation of muscle contraction of skeletal muscle is described. It is a part of muscle contraction dynamics.
In further chapter types of nerves, details about nervous system and structure of neuron is explained in detail. forth chapter includes description about how the signal transmitted from brain to synapse? and details of synapse along with chemicals which are released for muscle contraction which is part of muscle activation dynamics.
In next chapter general block diagram of EMG is described with different blocks. In this chapter gross idea about signal amplification filtering and displaying on oscilloscope is given. After explaining diagram the types electrodes used for measurement of signal are explained in detail. In next chapter types of measurement which are carried out i.e EMG and NCV measurement are discussed. Further chapter explains use of EMG in various segments and some diseases with symptoms which can be handled by use of EMG are explained in detail.
