- Basic understanding of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electricity
“Electricity is the soul of the universe” is a quote by John Wesley, a famous English leader and pioneer of using electricity for curing illness. It is the universal truth now. We can’t imagine a single moment of our life without electricity. After food, cloth and shelter , it is almost the fourth basic need for human beings. Electricity as " Service" is gardually being changed to "Commodity". The competition in the electricity sector is making multiple trading options available to the stakeholders. This has resulted in evolution of Electricity Markets globally. This is elementory course which will introduce Electricity Markets and few research problem statements to the learners.
The course will start with the introduction of Electricity Markets, Various Stakeholders, and some important terms. Timeline of evolution of the markets and various types of market models will be discussed. This course also covers the classification of markets in detail. Indian electricity market scenario is introduced in one lecture. At last, few research problems are enlisted. This course will be useful for undergraduate students, post graduate students, research scholars as well as industry persons and academicians to understand basics about electricity markets.
Join the course and have a great and joyful learning !!!!

I started my career with L&T after graduation from Walchand College of Engineering Sangli in 2010. I worked in L&T Power for 4 years as construction engineer in thermal power plant sector. I have handled packages like generator excitation system, HV LV switchgear, switchyard interfaces, illumination, construction power etc. I pursued my post graduation in Electrical Engineering with power systems as specialization for which I was on sabbatical leave during 2014-2016 . I joined back L&T after completion of masters in marketing and proposal division and worked as senior engineer for bidding BTG, BOP and turnkey packages of thermal power plants. I joined in academics as Assistant Professor through UGC at K.K.Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research Nashik in December 2017. Currently I am handling training and placement portfolio apart from routine academics. My research areas of interest are power system stability, virtual synchronous machine, policy regulations related with power sector, system dynamics, energy markets etc.
