This course invites educators to deepen their understanding of cultural identity and the foundational principles of multicultural education to foster the development of inclusive, culturally integrated learning environments. Through critical reflection, dialogue, and community engagement, students will examine how race, ethnicity, and culture shape teaching and learning experiences.

Participants will explore the five dimensions of multicultural education and gain practical strategies for integrating diverse cultural perspectives into curriculum and instruction. A key component of the course is the development of a cultural assessment rubric. This reflective tool supports educators in evaluating and strengthening their integration practices for use in future classrooms.

Rooted in both theory and practice, this course emphasizes relational, contextual, and balanced approaches to pedagogy that honor Indigenous knowledge systems and support culturally responsive teaching.
