This is a fun class that highlights many of Spencer's favorite plants for survival. Spencer is not a doctor, so nothing in this video is intended to treat, cure, diagnose or otherwise substitute for professional certified medical advice! This is a look at history, Cherokee lore, Appalachian tales, and folk uses of plants for health and wellness. The information is geared toward ethical use and understanding, survival, and relationship with the natural world. This is a video version of Spencer's popular class offered through Land of the Sky Wilderness School in Western NC.

Instructor
Spencer 2 Dogs Bolejack operates Land of the Sky Wilderness School in Western North Carolina where he lives with his wife and three kids. An apprentice of mountain man Eustace Conway in the 1990s and director of many Turtle Island programs, Bolejack holds dan rank in multiple styles of martial arts including Tang Soo Do, Kenpo, IMA, and a 5th degree black belt in ninjutsu. After a rough start at Appalachian State, he gave everything away and moved into the woods for a total of three years, surviving on little and accumulating many of the skills discussed in camp. Eventually graduating from UNC-A, he has taught public school, won state level awards from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, has been published in Best Practices for Middle School Teachers and has taught internationally. The 11th generation Carolinian also co-hosted 59 episodes of Discovery’s Hillbilly Blood.
Recently Spencer has been freelancing as a curriculum designer for Mastery Systems, adapting Conscious Language training materials for Parents and Kids. He has run sound and recording tech for live tours and continues to pursue a variety of endeavors from his humble paradise on North Carolina's largest Wilderness Area. His hand forged knives and turned bowls are sold locally. Spencer hosts guests for clinics, therapy, intervention, and one on one advanced training in woods lore and survival at the LOTSWild Base Camp. Air b n b available.
