So often we take big deep breaths and only utilise the upper 30% of the lungs. By learning how to breathe consciously we can utilise the entire volume of the lungs. This simple exercise calms the entire physiology and reduces emotions associated with anxiety and stress.
How often do you take time out to be still, silent, no phone, no music, no distractions, just you; to move within and connect with your inner teacher? The wisdom you seek is never outside of you. Its residing inside of you waiting for you to stop and become silent.
You really can take control over your emotions by using the power of the breath......and its super simple! The trick is to be aware of an unproductive change in your emotions and immediately start the breathing practice. Lecture 6 goes into the theory and practice a little deeper.
Breathe in the qualities you want to have in your life, the experiences you want to have and then breathe those intentions out into the field of energy that surrounds you. As you exhale on your intentions, you surrender them to divine intelligence and have a little faith that your intentions will manifest. And as you do this, the energy of your entire being, begins to shift. 'Sometimes the most simple things are the most powerful.'
Moving the body with the rhythm of the breath is a sure way to move into 'mind body coherence.' This quietens the stress response and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system 'the rest and digest system.'
An Incredibly Powerful Breathing Technique that does require you to work for it! This is a mindful practice which really does shift blocked emotions from the lower energy centres of the body. This breathing work requires your commitment and discipline and with it comes amazing results.
The answers to your problems aren't out there, they're inside of you! But how do you get in touch with your inner wisdom when the monkey mind is going crazy? From this place of present moment awareness and with a focused mind we will move into a state of mindfulness. I will also introduce you to the science in support of the breathing techniques so that you may understand, acknowledge and surrender into your practice more readily.
By the end of this course you will have the tools and techniques to take your awareness away from external distractions, move within, reconnect with the greatest teacher in your life which is your own inner wisdom and respond to whatever challenge life presents to you; from a higher state of consciousness.
In my own experience, working with the breath has been profound and the opportunity to teach this gift to others is a blessing. The unique thing is, you can incorporate these breathing techniques into your yoga practice, meditation, whilst you’re sitting in a meeting, stuck in a traffic jam, when you’re facing a problem that overwhelms you or simply during a period of quiet time.
"When I sit down to meditate, I start with my breathing routine; I’m going home. I leave the challenges of my waking life and I access the calm and the serenity deep inside of me. And it’s from this place I find my answers. I find guidance. Breath is my teacher and the portal into my very own inner wisdom." Marie
