The class aims to introduce common international words to learners, giving them a hint to explore more on their own and discover other international words they can easily use in Armenian. This will help learners feel integrated more quickly.
The second part of the class focuses on gradually building a short dialogue using both formal and informal language.
The class begins with a brief review and introduces more vocabulary related to emotional states (happy, sad, tired, etc.). It focuses on giving short personal information and incorporating it into a dialogue. The class emphasizes asking and answering self-introduction questions.
Topics include: countries, nationalities, and languages, reinforcing the use of formal and informal language.
Objectives: We learn personal pronouns! We also learn different times of the day and how to greet people.
By the end of the class, learners will feel comfortable having short dialogues in Armenian, greeting others appropriately, talking about how they feel, and asking questions to their conversation partners.
Objectives: By the end of this class, learners will be able to quickly form negative sentences (e.g., I am not, you are not, he is not).
They will also learn to count in Armenian and begin exploring verbs.
Students will build their vocabulary using the present simple tense and learn how to talk about things they like and dislike.
We also cover the negative form of verbs (e.g., I don’t like, I don’t want).
Bonus – Cultural Note: Learners will discover the meaning of "Hats utum es?"
We learn the names of several places in Armenian (e.g., house, park, school).
By the end of the class, students will be able to ask questions like: “Where do you go?”
We also cover the modal verb “have” (I have, you have, etc.) and its negative form.
Students will be able to form sentences expressing possession.
We learn family members in Armenian!
Objectives: Learners will be able to describe their family in Armenian - what family members they have and how they are related.
We learn useful phrases for everyday conversations!
We expand our vocabulary and learn large numbers.
By the end of the class, students will be able to talk about age and ask related questions.
They will also learn possessive pronouns (my, your, his, etc.).
