Discover new, helpful array formulas in Excel 365. In this introduction, you will get a brief overview and valuable tips on when and how to use the new formulas.
To combine information from two tables, you can use the already known VLOOKUP or the new XLOOKUP function. With XLOOKUP you can flexibly find content to the left or right of the search criterion and have several pieces of information transferred to different columns at once.
The FILTER function allows you to output data records at a different location while keeping the data related to the initial values. You can now create data extracts that are automatically updated. The UNIQUE function lets you pick out the unique values from a list or range. For example, you can create drop-down fields whose selection is automatically completed
The new functions SORT and SORT BY now realize the automatic sorting of the data and they also output sorted results at other positions. Thus, you only have to execute each sorting once, Excel will then do the updating for you.
Use the SEQUENCE function to automatically number records in tables. When changes are made, the numbering is adjusted automatically. With the RANDARRAY function, you can display random values from a range that you specify.
