Description

This course continues the innovation project journey from where Driving Innovation Projects: Part 1 of 2 – Identify & Ideate concludes. While the first part focuses on identifying innovation areas and generating discrete ideas, this course shifts attention to incubating ideas into working solutions and implementing them in real contexts.

The course covers the next two stages of the innovation journey—Incubate and Implement. Discrete ideas generated earlier are not treated as final answers, but as inputs that need to be shaped, combined, and evolved into coherent innovative solutions. You will explore systematic ways to form solution concepts, compare alternatives, and prioritise options before committing significant effort or resources.

A key focus of this course is on making solutions viable through conceptual operating models. These help clarify how a solution could function in practice—across processes, people, and constraints. From there, the course moves into evolving working models, where concepts are taken through trials, learning cycles, and refinement. The emphasis is on informed experimentation rather than premature optimisation.

As solutions mature, the course addresses the challenges of scaling-up innovative solutions—moving from limited pilots to broader adoption. Principles, steps, and examples highlight how scale introduces new complexities and why careful choices are required during this phase.

Consistent with the MyInnovationJourneyS (MijS) approach, the course integrates structured reviews at key points—reflecting on outcomes as well as the processes used to drive the innovation project. Frameworks are offered throughout, with a strong emphasis on contextualisation rather than prescription.

Together with Part 1, this course provides a systematic, end-to-end view of driving innovation projects, from ideas to implementation and impact.

Who this course is for:

  • Professionals involved in innovation projects across teams, functions or even organisations
  • Practitioners from strategy, transformation, excellence, optimisation, or reengineering roles.
  • Leaders and facilitators responsible for shaping and guiding innovation projects
  • Enthusiasts who wish to explore how innovation projects can be driven systematically
