Dreams of Being Hova is a course designed to provide transformative information to those familiar and unfamiliar with Hip-Hop culture. Business mogul, Jay Z (also known as Hova) is mentioned throughout this course as a symbolic figure to encourage students to achieve the American dream. Within this course you will find information that will motivate, encourage, and inspire you to reach your full potential.
This course is sponsored by The Men of the Tenth Inc. which is a nonprofit organization based in Bronx, New York. The course is facilitated by organization's President and Founder, Dr. LaVon Williams.
Since 2004, students who have experienced The Men of the Tenth Inc. workshops and presentations have been armed with the skill-set and tools to eliminate unwanted conflicts and challenges that may occur. To simply put it “the organization's goal is to reach people and motivate them to do better.” The Men of the Tenth Inc. believes that success is caused by acquiring formal education and using education to help others. The organization offers a variety of workshops that cater to high school students and beyond. We connect and reach students by using current events, music, history, technology and education as the premise to help individuals maneuver through the challenging world.

Instructor
Dr. LaVon Williams is a college administrator, adjunct professor, and founder of The Men of the Tenth Inc. He created The Men of the Tenth Inc, to “teach the truth to the youth” by using history and hip-hop to educate students on how to achieve their dreams. His goal is to enrich lives for the future.
