Let's draw this common flower together with a pen.
In this lessen we'll do the buttercup from the top.
In these 4 parts we're going to draw a dandelion in various ways and views. Let's start with a view from the side.

The titel pretty much explains what we're going to do in this lesson.
Drawing a simple flower from a more complicated point of view.
You don't always have flowers near you or it's not the season for flowers. In that case working from a photo is a great solution.

Introduction of this first project in this section
We'll start by sketching the flowers with a pencil.
Flowers have leaves, let's add them to make this composition even more interesting.
Now that our drawing is ready, let's ink it.
Instead of continuing with a pen, let's use some (alcohol) markers. Brush pens would work fine too.
Now we have a flat drawing, let's shade it for some more depth.
Almost done, but we need some more definition and detail in this drawing.
I've created a pretty springtime flower compostion. Now it's your turn.
Drawing Nature - Flowers and Rocks Edition
Nature is such a big source of inspiration for artists. The beauty of creation is simply stunning! No wonder it brings such joy to be able to capture some of this beauty on paper!
How about me taking you by the hand in my process of drawing detailed flowers and rocks in their full glory?
Drawing flowers or rocks in their full glory, asks for you to zoom in on the details. Adding the RIGHT details to your pen drawing, along with the RIGHT shading is your recipe for success. Guaranteed! But wait……
What are the RIGHT details? Exactly, that is where so many people get stuck. Once you start zooming in, it is very easy to get lost in the details. How do you move forward from there? How do you escape (or even avoid) the trap of making the drawing process overly complicated? What skills do you actually need to work towards an impressive and very satisfying result?
My name is Benjamin Aeilkema and I’m an illustrator and Artist from The Netherlands. I love creating Artworks with all kinds of materials. As many, many other artists, I also find great joy in capturing the beauty of nature in artworks. There is just something very special about it!
But I can also relate to the challenges and struggles many people have shared with me over the past few years. These very same issues I’ve been dealing with in my own works. It can be really frustrating to get stuck along the way and not knowing how to proceed, or how to improve the way you’re going about things.
Nevertheless, I somehow was convinced that I could discover the right techniques to conquer these challenges. And to develop a method that would provide answers and solutions.
You might be surprised to hear that the key I found has everything to do with the way you go about starting a detailed flower drawing. The key is actually in the way you OBSERVE the flower and the choices you make regarding which parts to focus on.
The secret to success is in training your eye & brain to only observe the APPROPRIATE details at the RIGHT moment of your drawing process. Eliminating everything else enables you to capture exactly what you need at every step along the way.
My method is based upon 3 distinguished steps:
Capture the complicated flower or rocks in the simplicity of its basic shape
Focus on the RIGHT details and master translating these to your drawing
Finish it with convincing shading (done in an relative easy way)
In this Art Class you will discover the key to a transformation of your thinking pattern in where to start and where to end. You will find a new revolutionizing workflow as your eye & brain are trained to make the right choices along the way. You will discover the progression of building beauty enhancing detail upon detail. Ending up with amazing results!
Of course you will also be given the necessary tools to:
train your muscle memory in drawing the right shapes
develop simple construction drawings as your springboard to freehand drawing
give compositions your own personal touch
With my method you will become successful in drawing detailed flowers or rocks in their full glory!
Enrolling in this Art Class will give you 14 video lessons with clear instructions and examples. In these videos, I will take you by the hand in my process of drawing detailed flowers. We’re not limiting ourselves to flowers only, we’ll be adding some rocks and grass too. You will greatly benefit from my decades long experience as an instructor and teacher.
My easy to follow teaching method will help you to understand exactly how to get from point A to point B. The in-depth demos make even the more complicated matters easy to understand and apply.
The skill level advancing assignments are all truly focused on helping you grow. They’re fun to do, allowing you to keep on discovering new potentials. You will be equipped to explore so many wonderful ways to make amazing flower drawings ALL ON YOUR OWN!

Additional PDF’s: Great Time Savers in PDF format
To help you save time, I’m providing you with a handy book of notes. Once you’ve completed an assignment, there’s no need to re-watch the video lesson. Instead, all of my finished works are in this booklet. Just find the lesson you’re on and compare your work to the finished assignment in the book. Again, this will save you time and allow you to keep on going.
That’s not all though.
I’ve also included a booklet with photo references. In this booklet you’ll find photos of all the flowers and rocks I’ve used in the lessons and even some extra ones for more practice. This addition will help you to work in any season, regardless of which flowers do or don’t grow. While I encourage you to get your own reference material, I understand that’s not always possible. So with this booklet you have plenty of reference material to get you started and keep you drawing.
