
In this course you will learn how to draw botanical illustrations in pen, using poisonous plants as examples.
This class is for anyone who is interested in illustrating flowers in pen. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an established artist, this class is created to be as informative as possible and to equip you with new skills and techniques to broaden your horizons.
By the end of this class, you will have completed three pieces of botanical art. In addition, you will have learned the necessary skills and techniques to create your own botanical art in the future.
Plants you will learn to draw:
Atropa belladonna (deadly nightshade)
Digitalis purpurea (foxglove)
Papaver somniferum (opium poppy)
This lecture sums up the structure of this course:
We will kick off with the materials and resources needed to complete this course,
followed by a few courses on how to draw basic leaf and flower structures.
We will then learn how to create depth by shading,
followed by a quick discussion on composition.
Finally, we will do 3 class projects, each consisting of a different poisonous that you will follow along from beginning to end.
