Start the dragon body with a bezier curve, subdivide for smoothness, and apply bevel thickness; then create scales on a plane, wrap them around the curve, and array along it.
In blender, sculpt the dragon's back legs and feet with masking and inflating, then create teeth and horns from a single mesh and mirror them for a symmetric head.
Learn to model and wrap ropes around dragon girl armor in blender using edit mode, bevels, and duplications, with notes on subdivision surfaces and workflow reliability.
Refine dragon girl torso and armors in Blender, using edge loops, mirror clipping, subdivision surface, and solidify for thickness; explore materials, lighting, and HDRI for a polished render.
Create a lip around the leg armor by extruding, scaling, and refining with solidify and subdivision surface; use crease inner and outer, inflate, rivets, then mirror and adjust for symmetry.
Mirror the foot armor and refine thickness, using solidify and subdivision modifiers, multi-resolution, and careful adjustments to achieve polished armor that looks good from first glance.
Model and refine a dragon's tail in Blender, adding scales and thickness for 3D printing, sculpting with planes, modifiers, and organic details to fit the scene.
Create a turntable render of the dragon girl by configuring a shadow plane and a shadow material, then animate a 160-frame 360-degree loop with linear interpolation.
In this course we will do a dragon in Blender...
...and a sword...
...okay, and a girl.
So basically we will make a girl with a sword and a dragon around her from scratch in this Blender character creation course!
My name is Niko and i am a 3D character artist with over 15 years of experience in the game industry. I have more than 22 000 students in my courses on Zbrush, Blender, 3D character creation and anatomy.
The concept is made by Sora Kim
We will start by making the head (as always with the creations of my characters), then we will make the rest of the body, where i will tell you the specifics of the female body sculpting. After that we will do the sword and turn special attention to its handle. Next will be time to do the dragon. We will make the curved body, and then add scales efficiently using some interesting techniques. After the dragon is ready, we will jump to make some ropes, which will take some time. Then we will refine various things to get ready for the lighting and render. Lights, material tests and render as well as turntable and shadow plane will be last in our list.
The Dragon girl in Blender course is probably one of the most complicated courses in Blender i have done, it is mainly for intermediate and advanced users. But beginners with alot of patience could also try it :). But for them i recommend taking one of my two beginner courses before you do this to yourself :).
