In 2004, my life changed forever — thanks to two tiny Parson Terrier brothers we’d just brought home.
I was over the moon. Two puppies meant double the fun, double the love… or so I thought.
When I rang around to enrol them into puppy socialisation classes, every trainer told me the same thing:
“This is the worst-case scenario. Littermates will fight for dominance. You’ll have to re-home one.”
My heart sank. I looked at those two little faces and said, "No — you’re not going anywhere."
I had no plan, no experience — just determination to prove there had to be another way.
So I began studying dog psychology, watching how my two communicated, and experimenting with calm, kind leadership instead of shouting or force.
Over time, the chaos faded. The boys started listening, relaxing, and trusting me completely.
That breakthrough didn’t just change our lives — it became the foundation of everything I teach today.
In this opening video, you’ll meet “the boys,” see them playing together, and hear the real story behind the calm-leadership methods you’ll learn throughout this course.
Meet Lizzie, one of my amazing students who wanted to share her experience in this short video.
Lizzie is dyslexic and often finds it hard to absorb information just by reading, but she said the way the course is set up with video demonstrations and practical resources is 'bloody brilliant' and perfect for her.
Lizzie wanted to send this video to share her experience with others and say thank you.
Whatever your background or learning style, this course will show you step-by-step how to succeed.
Hear from real people who started where you are and who are now:
• Running successful dog-training businesses
• Earning extra income helping dogs in their communities
• Using these methods to get amazing results with clients every day
These stories prove one thing — if they can do it, you can too.
Let these success stories motivate you — your own client transformations could be next.
I designed this course for:
People who would love to work with dogs and want to start building a dog training business in their spare time (side hustle!)
People already in the dog industry (dog walkers, groomers, pet sitters) who want to add professional dog training to their services
People who are already dog trainers wanting more knowledge and methods for their toolkit
Dog owners who want in-depth training knowledge to best support their own dogs
In this video, you'll discover:
The complete structure of this course
What makes these methods different from other dog trainer programs
Why you can start small (part-time/side hustle) and grow at your own pace
The business side AND the training side (you need both to succeed)
By the end of this course, you'll have everything you need to confidently work with dogs and their owners.
Whether you want a full-time dog training career or a flexible side hustle, this roadmap shows you exactly how to build it.
Feeding time is one of the areas dogs look for leadership. It's when they can control food and demonstrate their higher-ranking status to you, your family, and other animals.
In this video, you'll learn:
Simple methods that convince your dog you're a higher-ranking member when they're fed
How to take control and gently give your dog the message that you're in charge during feeding time — which stops food aggression
How to stop "fussy eaters" and get dogs to eat the food given to them
Why this matters for overall pack leadership
This is foundational knowledge every dog trainer needs.
Feeding time can be tense, particularly if there's more than one dog in the household. Food aggression is scary for owners — and you'll be the hero who solves it.

This one technique solves multiple behavior problems.
When greeting your dog, you're either saying they're in charge (the pack leader and decision maker) or that you are.

How to give the right communication when you reunite with a dog

In this video, you'll learn:
Why it's important that the dog sees your guest as a higher-ranking member (and how to easily achieve this)
The best way for guests to enter the house to give the dog the right communication
What to do should the dog try to jump up at guests
What NOT to do (this makes it worse!)
Master this and you'll have grateful clients for life.
It's embarrassing when friends come round and your dog jumps all over them and their best clothes!
In this video, you'll discover:
Why it's important that guests say hello to the owner first (not the dog!)
How owners may be encouraging jumping up without realizing it
Different methods that stop dogs from jumping up
It's a simple fix and quick, visible results with this problem create happy clients who refer you.

How responding to a puppy's crying and whining influences their anxious behavior
How feeling guilty for leaving a puppy alone can encourage their anxiety
The right way to leave a puppy so they settle down and relax
The right and wrong way to pet a puppy when they're anxious

In this video, you'll discover:
How to give the right message when the owner is going out to prevent anxiety
How to create a "mock up" situation so the dog adjusts to being alone

Question 6: We have a Fox Terrier puppy nearly 4 months old. When we take her for a walk, she never wants to go to the toilet. We've tried saying "go toilet" or "go wee wee's" but she doesn't, then goes as soon as we get home on the paper.

WHY THIS DOG TRAINER COURSE ACTUALLY WORKS
I'm Sharon Bolt, Celebrity Dog Trainer, featured on BBC, ITV, Channel 5, The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Mail and more.
I've also had a regular phone-in slot on BBC Radio for over a decade, where I answered listeners' doggy dilemmas live on air.
For over twenty years, I've helped thousands of dog owners (including celebrities) transform their dogs' behaviour — and I've trained thousands of people to become professional dog trainers.
Many of my students started exactly where you are: unsure if they could do it, worried about the business side, wondering if they'd be good enough.
Now they're running successful dog training businesses, earning great money, and doing what they love every single day.
My approach is different because I teach you:
• The dog training methods that get fast results (so your clients are happy and refer you to everyone)
• The business side of dog training (how to actually make money, not just train dogs for free)
• How to build confidence even if you've never trained professionally before
• The mistakes to avoid that new trainers always make
• How to handle difficult dogs
• How to grow from your first client to a fully-booked business
I answer student questions in all my Udemy courses daily — so you'll have ongoing support as you build your dog training career.

IS THIS TRAINING APPROACH RIGHT FOR YOU?
This course teaches calm pack leadership combined with positive reinforcement techniques.
If you believe dogs need clear, consistent leadership and want to learn gentle methods that respect dogs while establishing the owner as the calm, confident leader — this course is perfect for you.
If you prefer purely reward-based training without any leadership structure, this course may not align with your philosophy.
I've been using these methods successfully for over twenty years with thousands of dogs and thousands of trainers. They work. My students' results speak for themselves.
But I also respect that different trainers have different approaches — and that's okay.
The important thing is finding the method that resonates with YOU and works for the dogs you'll train.
If calm pack leadership appeals to you, you're in the right place.
If it doesn't, I encourage you to find a course that better matches your training philosophy.

You don't need to have trained hundreds of dogs.
You just need:
Proven methods that work (this course gives you those)
The confidence to practice (you'll build this as you go)

IMAGINE YOUR NEW LIFE
It’s a Tuesday morning.
You wake up without an alarm. No commute. No boss. No dread about the day ahead.
You check your schedule — three private training sessions today, one group class tonight.
You head to your first client’s home. A family with a puppy that pulls hard on the lead and desperately needs help. Ninety minutes later, that same puppy is walking calmly on a loose lead. The family is amazed. You’ve just earned around US $60–$150 doing what you love.
Your afternoon client is a rescue dog with separation anxiety. You guide the owner through your proven techniques, and for the first time in months, there’s hope and peace. You’ve just earned around US $100 – $200 for that private session.
Later, you meet a new client whose dog chases joggers and cyclists. You carry out a full consultation using your forms and templates to assess, advise, and build trust, typically charging US $120–$220 depending on location and session length.
That evening, you run a group puppy class with six puppies and six families, all eager to learn. You earn approximately US $150–$300 for two hours of work.
You drive home smiling.
You’re helping dogs and families. You’re earning well for meaningful work.
And you’re finally living the life you always wanted.
That isn’t a fantasy. It’s the kind of lifestyle this dog trainer career course prepares you for.
