DIY Leathercrafting: Make your own Leather Bag in 2 hours

Select a defect-free area of the leather, secure the pattern with weight, and cut slowly while applying firm pressure to shape the front part of the back.

Cut the sides and bottom part of the back, align the pattern and hold it steady. Re-cut the line after sharpening the knives.

Cut the bag straps and laces: a 105 cm long strap, a 45 cm strap, 2.4 cm wide; prepare six 2 mm laces and 0.8 to 1 cm leather rings.

Cut the remaining parts of the back, attach strap holders on both sides, and close the back along the thread path, as the next lessons teach assembling all parts together.

Draw punch points using an erasable ink pen to mark where holes will go. Align the pattern with the leather, then proceed to punch the holes.

Punch 2–3 mm holes with a special tool, create two parallel lines about 5 mm apart for the bag laces, and smooth the perimeter edges as you finish.

Stitch the front part to the back, guide the ends through the holes, leave five to seven centimeters from the inside back, then secure the ends and move forward.
