Layers are simply sheets of stacked acetate. You can see through transparent areas of a layer to the layers below. You can also change the opacity of a layer to make content partially transparent.

A pixel is a single point or the smallest single element in a display device. If you zoom in to a raster image you may start to see a lot of little tiny squares. In contrast, vector images are mathematical calculations from one point to another that form lines and shapes. Since they're based on math, not pixels, vector shapes are extremely flexible. We can draw vector shapes at any size we need, and no matter how much we edit and scale them, or how large we print them, they always remain crisp and sharp.

Red Eyes in photos are a common problem when taking photos with a digital camera. The less distance between the lens and the flash, the more likely you will have red eyes in pictures. You can easily fix red-eye photos with just a few click and and make eyes look sharper in a portrait photo
Applying sharpening effects lets you remove fuzziness from your photos. You will learn that all sharpening tools operate by increasing the contrast between adjacent pixels.
