How to paint with Alcohol inks - Birch Tree and Flowers

We will cover all the supplies needed to complete this alcohol ink Birch Tree Course. In this section Students can view the video for materials needed for these projects .  Remember this course has lifetime access so you can re-watch at anytime, plus pop back in for a refresher or updates.

 Materials used in this project:  Most of art materials are available in my Amazon Shop (Link under Blue Resource button) on Video Lecture.

• Pinata Alcohol Inks (Blue, Green, Black)

• Yupo or Mineral paper

• Small Brushes

• Paint Pallet

• Black Sharpie

• Wax Paper or Plastic down on table

• Good Ventilation and or Organic Vapor Mask

• Paper Towels

• Wear Protective Gloves

• Apron

In this lecture students will learn what masking fluid is, how to add it to yupo paper and why. We will watch as I add it directly to the paper and students will understand after watching this - how to clean your brushes and protect them for re-use.

Now that students have masked in the Birch Tree area, we create the sky using a shade of Blue alcohol ink. Students will learn to lighten and change the shade of color used.

Students will begin to add more details and learn to paint in grass using Alcohol Ink.

Now that the grass has been painted in students will learn to deepen the values but adding more details and darker shades of ink. Students will be show how fine blades of grass can be created using a small fine brush.

In this lecture students will continue with the next step of the painting adding in some more trees in the background. Students will see how easy it is to create depth and use less details, but still be able to create the look and texture tree bark from a distance.

Now that the background trees have been added, students will begin to add more details by adding small branches and leaves.

Students may enjoy the light and airy look of the painting as is. In this lecture students will learn to deepen colors if they choose.

Most of the main details have been added. Students will now learn to remove the dried masking fluid and began adding more fine details to the painting. Students will use a palette knife to create texture and tree bark.

For some final small details students will see how using a fine black pen you can added more texture to your tree.

Finishing up your painting with Final Details. Students will be shown another great tool and how to use it to blend alcohol inks.

In this Lecture students will learn to use a Live flower to create a beautiful image of a flower by  dipping them into alcohol inks and using that to develop an basic image and beginning of your creation.

In part 2 students will use a Gel pen to begin adding some little doodles and small intricate details to their painting.

In part 3 students will try a few different flowers to create a gorgeous and unique pattern all there own. By trying different flower and colors you can make un-limited combinations of designs.

In Part 4 students will continue to doodle using this time a black sharpie. You can stretch your imagination with any design or shape you like. Express yourself here.

In Part 5 students will continue to doodle and expand on that while deciding when their painting is complete.
