Create Your Page

To show you the basics, we're going to use Jasper's Market, a brick-and-mortar store, as our sample business.

To create a Page from your personal account, select Create from the top-right menu, and then Page from the drop-down menu.

Create a new Page

Let's go through the steps for choosing the category that most closely reflects your business. Depending on your choice, you’ll be asked for a few details before you can create a Page.

· Click the Get Started button in the category that best describes your business:

o Business or Brand

o Community or Public Figure

Jasper’s Market is a Local Business, so we chose the Business or Brand category.

Next, you'll name your Page. All you need to do here is add the name of your business.

Second, add a category to describe your Page. Type a word or two into the text box that best describes your type of business and select a category from the options.

If you don't see your business type, try using different key words to search. You can change the category and name of the your organization later, if you need to.

·

Next, fill out your business address and phone number. If you don't want your business address visible, select the box that says Don't show my address. When you're done, click Continue.

Add a profile picture and a cover photo

Profile pictures can help more people find your Page, and they’ll also be able to recognize it in posts, comments, and more. If you have a logo, use it for your profile picture!

· Click Upload a Profile Picture.

You'll be able to edit your profile picture here by dragging it to a new position, increasing or decreasing the size, as well as by cropping it.

· Add a cover photo

Next, add a cover photo to help express your Page's identity. You can either upload a photo from your computer, or choose from a current Facebook album.

If you want to make sure nothing is cropped out of your image after loading it, we recommend using an image that is sized 828 x 315 pixels.

Add a cover video

To create a more engaging interaction and a rich experience for your Page audience, add a cover video instead of a photo. This can also help you spotlight your creative content in one of the most prominent spaces on your Page.

· Go to your page, and click Add a Cover in the top left of your cover photo or video.

Select Upload Photo/Video to upload a video from your computer. Cover videos should be at least 820 x 312 pixels and between 20 and 90 seconds long.

· After the video has uploaded, re-position the video by clicking it and dragging it up or down, then click Next.

· Click the arrows to scroll through up to 10 thumbnail options for your cover video. The thumbnail image may be used when someone hovers over your Page's name to get more context about your Page.

Click Publish, and your video will render.

· If you decide to remove your cover video at a later date, it won’t be deleted automatically, but will still be available in your Page’s video library.

Share more about your business

Add a short description

This section is optional, but we recommend filing it out so that people know what your business is about. It also helps your business appear in search results when people look for you online.

This field has a 155-character limit, so add the most important information here, like your business location, value proposition, and so on.

When you're finished, click Save.

Create a Page username

Add a username by clicking Create a Username for your Page. When you create a username, it appears in custom URLs that help people find, remember and message your Page.

Add additional information

·

To add more information, such as your website, email address, and location map, click About in the left hand navigation.

· This shows all of the information about your business that you can share with visitors to your Page. You can edit General information from this screen.

If you would like to edit all information, including details like the business website URL and business hours click Edit Page Info.

Fill in  information about your business you would like to include. When finished, click the x on the upper right.

To further customize your Page with templates and tabs, click Settings in the top right hand corner of your Page. Then, in the left hand navigation, click Templates and Tabs.

Add a call-to-action button

Encourage people to take the action you want them to take when they reach your Page by adding a call-to-action (CTA) button. The button is featured prominently at the top of the Page beneath your cover photo. It can help drive a range of different actions to align with your business goals, including sending a message, booking an appointment, making a purchase and more.

To add a CTA button to your Page:

·

Click Add a Button to open the CTA selection options.

·

Select one of the available options and fill out any required information. In this example, we'll choose Contact you for a category and Send Message as the call to action.

When you've selected a call to action, click Next.

·

Select where you want the button to send people. For our example using the Send Message call to action, we click on Messenger.

·

Confirm your choices, and click Finish.

You can change your CTA button at any time.

Test your CTA button

·

Hover your mouse over the CTA button. In the pop-up menu, click on Test Button.

·

For the Send Message CTA button in our example, a Messenger window opens.

Page Tips

As you build your Page, take note of the Page Tips on the right side of your screen. Click on the See All Page Tips link.

Page Tips provide guidance to help you create more effective posts.

These tips include how to let people know when you’re open, send people to your website and more.

Additional features

When you first create your Page, you don’t have the option to view Insights or to create an Offer.

In order to provide you with Page insights, your audience will need to start engaging with your Page so we can tell you more about them.

As you continue to build your Page’s audience, you’ll gain access to additional tools and features.

· After 30 people like your Page, you'll have access to Page Insights, which features data on how many people have visited your Page, their demographics, which posts performed well, and more.

· Once 100 people Like your Page, you can start "watching" up to 100 Pages. This feature allows you to see how other Pages - including any competing businesses - are performing.

Page Post Types

Status

Your Page should be engaging and informative to show your audience you're an active and trust-worthy business. To do this, start posting updates about your business as soon as it’s live.

Posting your Status is a great way to engage potential customers. Your status can be anything about you, your business, or your industry. Create short, fun-to-read content. Announce an online sale, share a new product, or make it more personal.

Posting often on your Page helps people who are interested in your business know what you’re up to. It also helps to keep customers engaged with industry trends, new products and events.

When you’re ready to add content, you’ll see that there are several types of posts you can publish to your Page, such as Photo/Video, Feeling/Activity, Offers, Events, advertising a post and more.

Click the “...” for a full list of Page Post options.

Photo/Video

Visual content helps you enhance your online presence. Posting photos and videos can help your Page attract more people than text alone — think about when you’re scrolling through your own News Feed. We're just naturally drawn to visuals.

Add visual content to a post by clicking on the Photo/Video button.

· Upload photos/video

Using this feature, upload photos or videos to your Page simply by clicking this option and then choosing the media from your computer.

· If you upload a photo, you’ll be able to tag products in the image, as well as add descriptions.

· If you upload a video, you'll have many options for how your video displays. The basic options include adding a custom thumbnail, adding tags, a title and a custom image. As you move on to more advanced features, you’ll be able to do things like add a Call-to-Action button, cross-post across platforms, add video captions, distribution options, custom labels and more.

· Create a Photo Album

Photo Albums are collections of still images. You can gather your images together in one album, add a description, a title, feature it on your Profile, and create new privacy settings.

· Create a Photo Carousel

Use the carousel format to show up to 10 images and/or videos, headlines, links, or calls-to-action in a single unit.

You can showcase specific products, provide details about packages or apps, or tell a story through successive carousel cards.

People can scroll through your carousel cards by swiping on mobile phones or tablets, or clicking the arrows on a computer screen.

· Create Slideshow

Slideshow lets you combine multiple images, text, and sound to enhance engagement and tell a visual story on Facebook. Slideshows play automatically on Facebook and Instagram — on smartphones, tables, and computers — just like a video.

Slideshow is easy to use and provides an immersive experience for your customers. You can also use images to convey complex processes without a lot of text. Use Slideshow to build a powerful narrative.

· Create an Instant Experience

Instant Experience (IX) is a full-screen, post-click experience that lets you bring your brand or products and services to life on mobile. In an Instant Experience, people can watch engaging videos and photos, swipe through carousels, complete a form, quickly view your products, and explore lifestyle images with tagged products.

Notes and milestones

Share blog-style updates and historical events with Notes and milestones.

Click on the hotspots for details.

Change post time

You can choose to post the status immediately to your Timeline so it can start appearing in people’s News Feeds, or you can choose to Schedule, Backdate, or Save Draft.

Other post types

In addition to Status posts, there are other update types you can make on your Page.

· Facebook Live

Video is growing in popularity, so it's no surprise that a lot of businesses are using Facebook Live.

Featuring a live, streaming feed, Facebook Live lets you interact directly with people via video. You feel like you’re right there, chatting with them!

This is a great way to help you capture more customer attention. Why? Facebook Live videos are an event — and much more interesting in the moment.

Once you have images and videos uploaded, there are many different ways you can use them. Next, we’ll review the basics.

· Event

In Events, you can select the people you want to see your event notice. When they accept the event, it will automatically display in their personal Facebook calendar. Then, if you make changes, they'll be notified. They'll also receive reminder about the event.

You can also see who accepted your invitation, so you can plan for how many people to expect.

· Offer

When 50 people Like your Page, you’ll be able to create an Offer. This post type allows you to create promotions that can help attract customers, increase sales, drive website traffic and boost Page engagement.

· Job

Jobs on Facebook help you tap into a wide talent pool. Jobs posts appear in multiple places on Facebook and you can advertise them to reach more people.Job seekers can apply directly on Facebook and control the amount of information they share with businesses. When people apply,

Page admins will get their submission via Messenger.

Stories

Sharing a story from your page lets your customers engage with your business day to day. Stories are photos and videos shared from your facebook page that can be temporarily viewed or shared for 24 hours.

Stories enable people and businesses to express themselves creatively, experience moments outside their everyday lives and feel part of a bigger community.

Stories that feature the behind the scenes at your business, promotions or sales, or that introduce new products are the best way to leverage this feature.

Next Up: Knowledge Check

Notes

Notes are like blog posts that people can read inside Facebook without leaving your Page.

When creating a Note, you can add a cover photo that represents what your note is all about, caption and resize photos, and format your text into headers, quotes, or bullets.

Milestones

Your Page is also a great place to celebrate milestones for your business, such as a grand opening or anniversary. You can choose a title, location, add a story, and add a photo. The only required field is the date of the milestone.

Your milestone will appear on your Timeline and in people’s News Feeds, just like any other Page update.

Schedule, backdate, or save draft

Schedule post

Why would you want to schedule a post for later?

Let’s say Jasper’s Market is celebrating its one-year anniversary in two weeks, and they're having a special event where they'll feature hourly discounts. Since it’s two weeks away, they don’t want to announce it until one week before the event. With the Schedule feature, they can date it so that it will publish at a specific date and time.

And, since it’s a limited time event, they don’t want it to display in News Feeds after the event has passed. The Distribution Schedule feature allows you to set a date and time in the future for when you want your post to stop appearing in people’s News Feeds.

Backdate post

Because all Page posts appear in your Timeline in chronological order, you can adjust where your status appears by backdating a post.

Save draft

The Save Draft feature enables you to save your post and finish it at a later date.

When you’re ready to post:

  • Click the Publishing tools tab.

  • Select Drafts in the left navigation.

  • Select your draft post and either edit, publish, schedule, backdate or delete it.

Why Should You Be Hired For This Internship – 5 Winning Ways to Answer

by Deevaaanshi

Ever wondered why employers stress on internships?

The simple reason behind this is that internships are a mark of credibility and eligibility. They show that you were ready to get your feet wet and obtain hands-on industry experience – this is precisely what can distinguish you from other candidates applying for a job.

For potential employers, an internship is often a determining factor for recruitment. According to the 2018 Internship & Co-op Survey Report, while the offer rate for interns is 59%, their acceptance rate is 77.3%!

Now that you know that an internship can bring you a step closer to getting your dream job, there arises another vital question –

How does an internship help your career?

An internship is a small investment in building your future. Here’s why:

It exposes you to real-world experience – Internships offer you a peek into the environment you wish to work in someday. As you intern for a company, you get hands-on experience of how things work in an office environment. Also, you get an idea of what job role you would like to choose when you join a full-time job.

It teaches you time-management – As an intern, you have to shuffle a host of tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment. Since people will expect results from you, you have got to manage your time accordingly to fit in all the scheduled tasks. After a few initial pitfalls, you will eventually learn the art of time-management and prioritizing tasks.

It encourages networking – During the internship period, you attend meetings and company events. This will give you much more industry exposure. You will meet professionals from various fields and make new connections. Who knows, you might even meet your future employer in company events?

It helps build your Resume – While degrees and certifications look great on a resume, an internship looks even better. Today, everyone is educated with some degree or the other. In such a situation, an internship can set you apart from others. It shows your potential employer that you have some work experience, thereby increasing your chances of getting hired.

It acts as a career foundation – When you carefully choose an internship in the domain you wish to build your career in, it becomes a stepping stone for you. You get the chance to work with a company that can teach you the ropes of the trade. Often companies hire interns as a test for future employees, and if you pass their tests, you might even end up being a full-time employee for the same!

While internships are excellent, getting one is quite challenging, what with the cut-throat competition out there. If there’s one question you know you will be asked in an interview for an internship, it is – Why should you be hired for this internship?

This is where it gets tricky. Although there are many, many ways to answer this question, you only get one chance to answer it. So, you must make sure you nail the answer in one go!

The first and foremost thing you have to remember while answering this question is that you do not want to blurt out a generic answer. You just cannot say, “I’m qualified, and I’m smart.” This is pretty much what every other candidate will say.

Which of These Product Management Tools are You Already Using?

You should come up with something unique. To help you with that, we’ve compiled a list of the best possible answers for the question –

“Why should I / we offer this internship to you?”

Answer 1

“Thank you for asking this question! Well, I think I will be a great fit for the internship since I am a quick learner and highly passionate about pursuing a career in this industry. I have already started my groundwork – I have researched about your company, your visions, and goals, and I am sure I can deliver everything that you are looking for in a candidate.”

Explanation: After thanking the interviewer for asking the question, you highlight 2 of your strong points (quick learner and driven by a passion for work). Then you further depict your inclination for the internship by stating that you are already eager on learning more about the company and what it stands for. This shows the recruiter that you are willing to shape yourself according to the company ethos and goals.

Answer 2

“I wish to pursue this internship to evaluate my inherent abilities and potential. Although I have accumulated a strong foundational knowledge in this domain, I think the best way to move forward would be to get practical working experience in an established platform, that is your company. I wish to learn, upskill, and acquire skills that can shape me as a valued professional in this field.”

Explanation: With this answer, you put forth a clear reason before the employer – that you are willing to identify your key strengths and weaknesses while working with the company. You wish to acquire industry skills and grow as a professional, and you think this company is the best fit for your career goals. This is as straight as it can get.

Answer 3

“I think I am the best fit for this internship since I am an excellent multitasker. During my years in college/university, I’d not only spend my time in academics, but I also made it a point to learn things outside the stipulated syllabus, as you can see in my Resume. Since I had to fit so many things on my plate simultaneously to satiate my urge for learning, I have learned the art of time management. And I can say confidently, that no matter what task I’m handed, I’ll always deliver in time without compromising on the quality of my work.”

Explanation: Interns often have to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Thus, time-management is a highly valued skill here. When you highlight this particular quality along with your constant urge to learn, you become a memorable candidate before the interviewer.

Answer 4

“The moment I saw the job description and responsibilities, I knew that I am perfectly cut out for this internship. I have all the skills and qualifications listed in the job description, and if you hire me, I promise to deliver quality work throughout the tenure of the internship. I possess excellent communication skills, I’m a team player, and most importantly, I’m a dedicated worker. All I want is a chance to prove it to you.”

Explanation: Though the beginning of this answer may seem generic, the line oozes confidence and optimism – the qualities of a leader. Also, while promising to deliver quality work, you list your strongest points, which is great. Lastly, you subtly ask for a chance to prove all the qualities mentioned above. The key here is your confidence.

Answer 5

“I know that you are looking for deserving candidates for this internship, and I can say that I am one of them. After looking at my Resume and talking to me so far, I hope I could give you a fair idea about my expertise, my passion, and my interests. My career goals align perfectly with your company, and I’d like nothing more than a chance to be a part of it.”

Explanation: Usually, interviewers ask this question after they’ve had some idea about your educational background, your interests, and your personality as a whole. So, you can turn the discussion by saying that apart from everything you’ve mentioned so far (both in your Resume and in-person), you are really passionate about being a part of this company. By doing so, you target the empathy of your interviewer/recruiter.

Well, these are just a few examples to help show you how you should carefully frame your answer to the dreaded question, “Why should I/We offer this internship to you?”

Remember, there’s no “correct” way to crack an interview. The trick to nailing the answer is to understand what the employer is looking for in a candidate and sell that in a way that best compliments your Resume and personality. Be confident, be true to what you are and your career goals, and the answer will follow.

SAMPLES

All about resume cover letters. A lot of cover letter samples and examples for different professions. See three basic cover letters on this page, or scroll down for more samples.

Sample #1

Dear X,

I am applying for the post of a camp leader, which I saw advertised in the March edition of the magazine Holiday Jobs for Graduates.
I reckon I have many of the relevant qualifications needed for this job. I have worked extensively with young adults, organizing a variety of activities (surfing, water polo, summer quizzes). I have a certain understanding of teenagers, having studied psychology and education at Bristol University. It’s easy for me to find a contact with teenagers and they respect my leadership abilities.

I’m a very practical person, easy-going and able of establishing good working relationships. I’ve traveled widely enlarging my educational and practical experience. I’ve worked with summer camp Aurelia in Australia.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
X

Sample #2

Dear X,

I am a student of International School of Arts (IBS). According to your advertisement in the local Employment Newspaper, I am responding to you. I am an eligible candidate for the position of a special education teacher available at your school.

I am also enclosing my resume with this letter, please go through it. I am having a very strong academic background in child psychology. I am also having more than five years of experience in Regional School as a history teacher. Currently, I am attending the workshop for improving my historical knowledge at Major School, New York.

I would appreciate an opportunity to discuss with further details. I believe that I could be an asset to your school by making a valuable and significant contribution to your school. I will call you next week to arrange the possible interview time and date. Thanking you in advance for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
X

Sample #3

Dear X,

With reference to your advertisement in Local Newspaper, I am applying for the position of Software Developer. I believe that my interests and credentials will match with your requirement. I have completed my Bachelor’s degree from National University in Information Technology with distinction in May 2003.

Presently I am working with MNC from the last three years as an assistant software developer. Throughout my career, I have acquired a very good knowledge of Web technologies (Perl CGI, PHP). My responsibility includes providing back end support for the distributed applications and guiding new trainees through their jobs.

I am enjoying my present job, but still, I am looking out for new opportunities in the same field. I will contact you on Wednesday, 2nd August, to arrange a personal meeting and discuss the prospect.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours sincerely,
X
