Prepare for the DevOps Institute DevOps Foundation (DOFD) exam with 320 original practice questions written to the current DOFD syllabus and its eight published topic areas. Four focused topic sets build your knowledge area by area, and two full-length mock exams mirror the real exam: 40 questions, 60 minutes, 65 percent to pass, weighted exactly to the official blueprint.
DevOps is a cultural and professional movement, not a tool you install or a job title. These practice tests are built to teach it that way. You will practise the ideas the exam actually tests: the CALMS values, the Three Ways, and how DevOps relates to Agile, Lean, IT service management, and Site Reliability Engineering.
What you practice:
• Exploring DevOps: its purpose, business value, stakeholders, teams, and the goal of frequent, high-quality, low-risk releases.
• The Three Ways: flow, feedback, and continual learning and experimentation.
• Key practices: continuous integration, continuous delivery and deployment, the deployment pipeline, testing, microservices, containers, and Kanban.
• Frameworks: Agile, Scrum, Lean and the DOWNTIME wastes, the Theory of Constraints, SAFe, SRE, and DevSecOps.
• Culture: cultural debt, change fatigue, the Westrum typology, Kotter, the Golden Circle, and psychological safety.
• Automation and toolchains, the DORA four key metrics, and sharing, dojos, blameless learning, and adoption.
Every question carries a clear, syllabus-referenced explanation for the correct answer and a brief note on each distractor, so you learn not only what is right but why the plausible-looking options are wrong. Questions and answer order are randomized, so you learn the concept rather than the position.
DevOps Foundation is an open-enrol certification with no prerequisites, and the exam is open book. Even so, it rewards genuine understanding: the two timed mock exams put you under real exam conditions so you know when you are ready. The certification is valid for three years.

DOFD3 Key DevOps Practices
A team keeps its software in a releasable state at all times, automating build and test so a release can be made whenever the business chooses, but a person still decides when to push to production. Which practice is this?
A. Trunk-based development
B. Continuous delivery
C. Continuous deployment
D. Continuous integration

The answer is B, Continuous delivery.
Continuous delivery (CD) extends continuous integration so that the software is always in a deployable state and could be released to production at any time. The distinguishing feature is that the final push to production remains a deliberate business or manual decision.
Here is why each of the other options does not fit:
Option A, Trunk-based development. Trunk-based development is a branching approach that supports CI, not the described release model.
Option C, Continuous deployment. Continuous deployment removes the manual gate and releases every passing change automatically, so it does not fit.
Option D, Continuous integration. Continuous integration concerns frequent merging and automated build/test, not the release decision.
That is 320 questions across six practice tests, each with an explanation like this one, calibrated to match the real DevOps Foundation (DOFD) exam.
