James A. Farmer, MSW, PhD is the founder and CEO of JAFA Group, Inc., Developmental Coaching, and the Rhodes Institute. Dr. Farmer has developed various innovative approaches to working with people in the areas of mental health, coaching, and counseling by incorporating concepts within neuroscience, psychology, self-esteem, spirituality, and communications. His clinical work and research encompass a wide range of topics, including: building authentic self-esteem, changing mindsets, decreasing destructive stress, adjusting attitudes, enhancing natural healing and well-being, eliminating depression and anxiety, parenting, corporate executives, and change.
Dr. Farmer has authored or co-authored seven e-books, three books, and ten peer-reviewed articles, as well as written newspaper articles. He also developed the first crisis support program for unwed mothers, a tele-seminar on family issues, developmental coaching certification, and international global courses. He is a consultant to organizations, provides several workshops each year, and has mentored hundreds of professionals, students, teachers, athletes, and ministers.
Dr. Farmer has a private practice in counseling, coaching, and psychotherapy. He counsels and teaches his clients practical tools for life’s challenges. His goal is to assist unstable persons in becoming emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy.
