   Being assertive is key in life journey, assertiveness is a personality traits that is located in the middle of the personality scale or continuum, where you have passiveness on one end and aggressiveness on the other. When a person is label as assertive, it means they embody certain traits, characteristics, and behaviors that are not passive or aggressive and they can stand effectively for their own rights. Let look at this example, a person with assertive personality has the confidence to effectively, calmly, directly, and confidently communicate what they need, desire, and want while, at the same time, being respectful of others, they minimize conflict and maintaining their own boundaries.

   Developing assertively is very important and it goes through a process, being assertive is a healthy social and interpersonal skill you can learn and work at, nobody is born of being assertive. It is very important to express ourselves assertively in all spheres of life, from family and friends to school and work.  Assertive individuals confront life challenges with determination and they develop the best strategies to overcome them, they do not give up in life easily. Assertiveness is a valuable traits because it helps you to reduce stress, regulate our feeling and emotions, and also aid in improving our coping skills. Developing your mindset to face challenges in difficult times is a clear sign of strong personality. Some people easily give up if there is a little life challenges or problems. We must take calculated steps to develop mental toughness to face real life issues.
