READ THIS IMPORTANT BIT
Often when people start turning to the more spiritual ways of life, they tend to turn their backs on some aspects. It is highly recommended that you advise your clients to still continue taking their medication for example and follow all the guidance from their trained medical practitioner, in addition to the services you offer. Clients uncomfortable with their current medical practitioner may need to discuss changing to a more holistically focused professional with relevant parties involved, so as to assure that any changes made serves their highest interest only.
Do a bit of research before advertising, to assure that your marketing does not get you into hot water. With online or printed material, you may need to add a disclaimer. If you post general readings on a social media platform such as YouTube for example, you want to have a disclaimer added in the comments section of every video.
In some parts of the world you need special licenses to operate as an esoteric practitioner. Make sure your affairs are in legal order.
Tarot deck clearing and dedication
Before giving any readings with your Rider Waite Tarot deck, or any other tarot deck for that matter, you want to first clear and dedicate the deck. to your intended purpose for usage. Prior to landing in your beautiful palms, your tarot deck passed through many other hands, absorbing all that energy along the way. Whether these were positive or negative, your deck absorbed all these like a sponge. It is imperative you clear your deck of all these energies when you first receive it, before giving a reading and also afterwards. Tarot decks are powerful tools for receiving communication, guidance, clarity and answers from Spirit. Treat it with the level of high respect it deserves.
How do you go about clearing your deck? There are a number of ways. If you are trained in and confident using an ancient energy practice, such as Reiki, Kundalini or Qi Gong, go right ahead and apply that energy practice if doing so resonates with you. Laying your deck on a layer of coarse salt overnight has a wonderful cleansing effect. Should you currently find yourself in a moisture rich area, please bear in mind that salt collects moisture, which may result in your cards or packaging getting wet. A fast and effective way of ridding your cards from negative energy is by running them through your favorite incense smoke.
Once you cleansed your cards, you want to dedicate them. You will do this upon receiving any new decks and before offering readings. Dedicating your cards can be a simple verbal invocation or elaborate ceremonial process, whatever sits right with you. If you are brand new to tarot reading, follow the suggestions outlined here. If they resonate with you, then great. If not, become more explorative. Remember, intention is the most important ingredient here.
A simple way of dedicating your cards is by standing up or sitting down comfortably. Take three deep, calming breaths, allowing your mind to ease down. Welcome your guides, guardians, angels, spiritual deities and whatever other forms of divinity that represents only the highest universal good to you into the space. When you feel ready, lift up and envelop your tarot deck in both hands. Now, state your intention with this deck clearly, either out loud or in your mind. Go with whatever feels right to you at this particular point in time. If you feel the need to change this up at a later stage, this is fine too.
You can speak a broader, overall dedication for your deck, such as "My desire is to gain a deeper knowledge of the tarot in order to receive clear and positive direction from the universe." Whilst, dedication for individual readings could be something in the lines of, "May I receive only that guidance which will serve the highest good of Amy/John/Bram/myself optimally. And so it is." Many tarot readers love flipping through their cards, touching each one briefly, whilst doing this.
After completion of a reading, pack your cards up nicely, thank them for their valued energetic contribution and follow the process of dedication in reverse. Meaning, hold the gathered cards in your hands once more (in our outside of their packaging), thank them for their support. Be sure to thank all universal beings who assisted and send them back to wherever they came from. If you are knowledgeable in the use of crystals, you could place a crystal that aligns with your intention on top of your deck of cards either during the dedication or cleansing process. You want to always give your card decks the respect they deserve!
It is highly recommended that you cleanse your energy post reading with your tarot cards. An easy and effective way of cleansing your energy is by taking in three deep, calming breaths. Bend down and place your palms or the tips of your fingers on the ground or the floor, visualizing or imagining yourself touching the earth. Either speaking out loud or in your mind, state the clear intention that if you have taken on any energies during your reading or training that is not serving your highest good, that you are now releasing that back into the earth to be transmuted (transformed) into positive energy that will only serve your highest good going forward on your path of life.
Proper energetic preparation and cleansing afterwards are vital to your success and for keeping your own energy beautifully balanced. Do not skimp on these steps. People often forget that when knocking on the door of the tarot, we are interacting with powerful universal energies. You want to show the correct degree of respect. Also, when you are reckless with looking after your energy, you can adversely attract darker energies that do not have your greatest interest at heart. As the 16th century born French writer Voltaire stated: "With great power comes great responsibility."
Rider Waite Tarot Major Arcana
The major arcana consists of 22 cards, representing the larger cycles of life, from birth to death. This is both physical as well as symbolic. Life consists of cycles within cycles. An example of this could be a period within which a certain number of people get together to learn a specific life lesson. Once this lesson is learned, some or all members are ready to move on to their next phase/cycle of life, which may be with some, all or none of those in the group/community/setting that was once ideal for them.

The soul may also be in need of some energy rebalancing. Rider Waite Tarot Strength
As human beings, it only makes sense that once we achieve a certain level of growth, it may be time to stop, breathe, take stock and do some healing again. This is the energy of the Strength card. Certain levels of healing will only become obvious, even necessary, for us once we reach a certain level of growth. Life is an array of multiple possibilities. You have beautifully grown but before continuing forward, it's time to heal a bit first. Think of it as unlocking your highest potential.
Inner child healing. Time to move past trauma in this or previous lives. Unlock your magic.
Reversed - Stuck in the past. Refusal to change. Dwelling in negative company.
Rider Waite Tarot The Hermit
Growth is part of life, but it is also super exhausting. Even when we consistently make positive changes, that balance between going for gold and chilling it out among your achievements already achieved is important, otherwise we fall out of universal balance. Without realizing it, you may have been pushing yourself too hard and now the time has come for you to honor your body through proper rest. Do something that brings our personal joy.

This may have already started. If you are facing court cases or any other injustices, expect rulings to be in your favor. It is important to understand that you may still lose the case, but the ruling will serve your highest good. Have faith in the higher ruling of Spirit that is only interested in your highest good.
Positive outcome. Judgments ruled in your highest favor. Balance returning/expanding.
Reversed - Stop and re-assess your commitments. You may not like where you are heading.
Rider Waite Tarot Hanged Man
As a human being, you are literally only capable of doing your best based on your current understanding of what that means at any given point in time. This goes for others too. Beware of the blame game in this space. Time to hand over to Spirit. After giving it your all, it is time to surrender with faith, knowing that either way you will be okay. Sometimes, the reason why things don't work out is because we refuse to hand over to the higher solution we may not yet understand ourselves.
Take a break and hand it over to Spirit. Have faith. Prophetic dreams and psychic expansion occurring.
Reversed - Beware arrogant, know-it-all mentality. Selfishness. Greed mentality.
Rider Waite Tarot Death

It may be time to look in the mirror, into your own eyes, and have an honest heart to heart with yourself. Nothing and nobody, but yourself, is keeping you stuck. Outside circumstances and other people are simply an outer reflection of our inner. What annoys us in others is what we need to work at facing, releasing and healing within ourselves. The origins of your problem require inner shadow work.
Self-fulfilling negative prophecies. Holding onto non-serving old wounds that continue to hurt you. Set yourself free.
Reversed - Seeing the wood for the trees. Recognizing your own negative patterns and working at healing them.

The tower usually represents those negative patterns that are so deeply entrenched within us, that even the very thought of letting them go (which leads to a highly positive outcome), is pure agony. Deep energy spring clean and reset that leads to great success.

After the coldest winter, warmth returns and we appreciate it so much more for the mere joy it brings. Because life is a flow of give and take, after our deepest suffering great joy is bound to follow. The star is an energy of experiencing the blessings of being in energetic balance. Good things simply flow to you, as easily as taking your next effortless breath. The reason for this; your energy is currently well balanced.
Balanced energy making it possible to receive great blessings, whichever direction you head in.
Reversed - Out of energy sync. Misfortune, arrogance, unwillingness to see your own errors.
Rider Waite Tarot Moon
What you think about, you bring about. Wherever your focus goes, there your energy flows. The moon card is both a reminder and a warning. If you like what's currently unfolding in your life, you can either maintain and enhance it by appreciating it, or begin to destroy the most beautiful manifestation for yourself by being terrified of it not lasting. You determine your own experience of life and is well advised to remember that.
Watch your emotions. What positive thoughts or fears are energetically fueling you? Heal your heart space.
Reversed - Deception. Be certain that your confidantes are truly on your side. Dark temptation seems positive.
Rider Waite Tarot Sun
There is a real power in overcoming what was once a personal obstacle for you. The sun card is the highest vibrational card in the tarot deck, promising the crème de la crème of goodies coming your way. The reason for this is that you have healed a huge obstacle within yourself and is now receiving the rewards for it. Do you now see how we always create our own experience of life, whatever that may be?
Highest vibrational card in tarot deck. Healed childhood/past life traumas. Great fortune on all levels.
Reversed - Heading for lesser success but also possible disaster. Someone may be stealing from you in some form.
Rider Waite Tarot Judgement
Perhaps one of the biggest challenges of growth in any way, shape or form in this life is that after we put in all the hard work, the final step we need to take is sometimes that we need to leave behind someone or a situation we never dreamed of releasing. What we thought was a permanent situation may turn out to have been seasonal. You may need some help here, but be vigilant to only take counsel from those who support the maintenance of your best plateau.
Spiritual, emotional and mental maturity making it clear which people, situations and energies to let go of now.
Reversed - Refusal to release energies or people that were meant to be seasonal. Creating disharmony and subsequent peril.
Rider Waite Tarot The World
No matter how terrible or wonderful a situation is, the nature of the soul is curious. It wants to move on, have new experiences, discover what's around the next bend, across that distant horizon. After feeling a bit stuck, the world card comes to let you know that a situation has reached its stage of completion and now you will be moving onto (or need to be willing to) joyful greener pastures, created especially to serve your highest good.
End of a cycle, beginning of a new cycle. Blessings that don't feel like blessings. Release/new beginnings challenges.
Reversed - Stagnation, refusing to let go/accept that a situation has reached its conclusion. Creating loneliness and misfortune for self.
If you are brand new to tarot reading, it is strongly suggested that you first work your ways through all 78 cards, with this accompanying booklet, before stepping into the space of giving your first reading to anyone. After completing this step, you are ready to step into the space of giving readings, which means you'll need to shuffle the cards and start drawing some from the deck to receive some answers, clarity and universal guidance.
There are a number of ways to shuffle and draw cards, neither being more superior to the other. In fact, the ways in which you shuffle and draw your cards are as personal as how you prefer your favorite beverage. By shuffling your cards, you bond with your tarot cards, connecting your energy. Whichever way you settle on, the idea is for you to keep on focusing on your goal for the reading you are about to give. When you are ready, you can start drawing the amount of cards matching the kind of reading you intend on giving.
One of the most used ways of drawing cards are jumpers. This is where one continues to shuffle the deck of cards until one or more cards either stand out promptly or literally jump from the deck onto the reading surface. From here the name jumpers. Some people opt to shuffle the deck until a card jumps and then continue to draw the rest of the cards either from the top or the bottom of the deck. Many readers shuffle their cards until they feel in their gut that it is time to start drawing cards, which they then do, once again either from the top or bottom of the deck. Another popular way of drawing cards is by fanning them all out and choosing cards at random, whichever ones call you/draw your towards them so to speak.
Whatever method you choose for shuffling and drawing cards, follow the guidance of your own heart. Let the psychic ability we all have within us, guide you, trusting that these are the right steps to follow. As long as your intention is to serve the other person's highest good through your reading, you should do just fine. Something important to guard against is the desire to only want to deliver good messages or serious news. The person you are reading for may need a message of warning or perhaps they just need a confirmation from the universe that they are doing well and that they are on the right path. As a tarot reader, delivering messages, it is important to remember that you are the deliverer of the message, not the message itself.
You are welcome to add candles, music, flowers, incense burners, crystals, figurines that are important to you, fountains, etc into your reading space. Just be sure to not get sidetracked by unnecessary fanfare too much.
The avenues you can do readings for are literally endless. A good space to come from is usually, what would the universe like me to communicate to this person? You could also focus on specific areas, such as love, career, the future, etc. Always try to keep your focus open-ended, meaning steer clear from yes, no outcomes. This way of questioning is very limited, versus "what is the guidance for Cindy's love life please?" This opens a whole different array of opportunities for guidance. Perhaps the person experiencing love problems needs to focus on being more trusting, which may mean they need to focus on healing childhood trauma.
A note on drawing readings for yourself. Whilst there is nothing wrong with this, all professional tarot readers will agree that drawing cards for yourself on matters where you are highly invested, especially emotionally, to the outcome may not be the greatest idea. All human beings are biased by nature. We don't see the simplest truths in ourselves, even when you will see it clearly in others. Therefore, it is highly suggested that if you are facing a big life choice, best you let someone else you trust implicitly read for you.
On drawing cards for others, this can be one of the most daunting tasks for the new tarot reader. Be sure to start your first readings for people you trust and only those who will provide honest feedback, but also positively support your growth. You may start off by practicing providing readings in a mirror. You could also stick up a photograph of someone you trust and provide them a reading or do so to a teddy bear, a mannequin or even your dog. In alignment with respecting the universal law of free will, always steer clear from doing readings for anyone without their expressed permission, even if you use their photograph. If possible, always gain permission first, even if it sounds a bit silly initially.

Reversed tarot cards
Reversed cards drawn is one of the things that causes tarot readers, brand new and sometimes seasoned, a lot of anxiety. There is the common misconception that cards drawn in reverse are a bad omen. This is 100% untrue. A card drawn in the upright may be a warning to watch out, whilst in the reverse it may signify that the worst is behind you and you need to worry too much about it any longer.
The most common ways of getting cards in the reversed position is often via jumpers. Interestingly, even when you go through all 78 Rider Waite tarot cards prior to the reading and draw your cards one by one from the top of the deck (meaning not jumpers), you will still somehow get some cards coming out in reverse. Know that this may mean you are meant to read the card in the reversed position.
One card tarot reading
A one card spread is the most basic tarot spread you can draw from your Rider Waite tarot deck. It may be a good idea to draw a card for yourself daily, being open to whatever guidance the universe has for you at this particular point in time. Be open to whatever message/s come through. Ponder these as you go through your day. This is a great way of easily learning the meanings of each card.

Wands are represented by the color red because it's all about the spark that truly gives meaning to living. The representing symbol is a triangle, pointing upwards. Unexpected miraculous changes can turn things around for you, quite suddenly. What you get may not be the exact thing you wished for, but whatever happens elevates your energetic vibration in a way that draws your heart's desires right to your doorstep.

Marriage to your perfect partner or a high level commitment in love is very possible. Highly creative, artistic flow.
Marriage card. Unity, high level commitment, not necessarily marriage. Emotional balance that brings great joy.
Reversed - Deep grief, loss. Hard as it may be, the time has come for your healing to commence.
Rider Waite Five of Wands
The problems in your life are an opportunity to heal from unhealed trauma/pain blocking your next level of happiness, success and love. People and situations causing disharmony on the outside are a reflection of unresolved inner turmoil. Others may be fighting around you, but you need not join them. If you are already involved, the time has come to start distancing yourself from drama in healthy ways.

This may have felt very unfair, causing you pain. Something special was reserved for you in life, and now you are ready to step into that bespoke shine. Life may suddenly become very pleasant for you. Positive karma paying off.
Victory and success in every way, shape and form. Public recognition. Fully deserved promotion.
Reversed - Huge disappointment, backstabbing, low vibing peeps sabotaging your growth because of jealousy.
Rider Waite Tarot Seven of Wands
Are you invited into the boxing ring of other people's conflicting energy? You have every right to respectfully decline. In this space we sometimes need to become very clear in our unwillingness to join the low vibing parade. Just remember to not become so clear in your saying no that your energy vibration gets drawn down too. In a space like this, drastic steps such as blocking people or physically moving away yourself may become necessary.
When drama knocks on your door, you need not answer. Stand up for yourself and say no when you need to.
Reversed - Others may have tried some trickery on you which failed. Possible wake up call you needed.
Rider Waite Tarot Eight of Wands
Too much of a good thing can be experienced as toxic. You may have focused so strongly on creating positivity in your life that your plate is overflowing with a bit too much of it, almost like when we get a bit carried away in the kitchen and create enough culinary cuisine to easily feed fifty people but there's only four people in the house. Simply allow the good to flow through your life here. Overall energy of this card is highly positive, though.
Inner peace, lots of positive events, yet possibly too many, which may cause severe stress. Stop, breathe, prioritize.
Reversed - Juggling too many balls. Spreading yourself too thin. Sacrificing your inner peace.
Rider Waite Nine of Wands
All aspects of your life may be absolutely beautiful, yet could there be that one aspect you flat out refuse to acknowledge? What is that little something tucked into the deepest, darkest corner of your mind, that point that's so painful it places a little damper on anything good? It is time to take that little demon by the hand and lead it into the light. Inner child healing is required. That issue overlooked could lead to illness. Either way, you cannot ignore this issue forever. Best you focus on healing it now.
You achieved a lot but perhaps there is that one aspect that still needs to be faced and healed.
Reversed - Overcame your greatest fear stumbling block. Things can only get better for you from here onwards.

Rider Waite Tarot Knight of Wands
If go, go, go was an energy, this would be it. Motivation is everywhere around you at this point - how absolutely awesome! You may have been contemplating things from all angles and now you are ready to strike the iron that you can tell is blazing hot. All is fine and well, just be sure to implement ways to ensure you stay on the straight and narrow. Be careful of becoming all-consuming in your approach, neglecting others who need you too.
Passion is the air you breathe right now. This is great, just don't neglect basic logic and needs.
Reversed - Ambition driven action is incredible but don't burn the candle at both ends.
Rider Waite Tarot Queen of Wands

Rider Waite Tarot Kind of Wands
What an incredible space to be in! On some level, you are very aware of your connection to all of life at this point. When one gets that you form part of the great expression of all creation, it humbles you in a way that unlocks all the magic that was always available. You form part of everything and everything forms part of you. There is no separation. Embracing your oneness eradicates all distance between you having or not having your heart's greatest desires.
Radiating sunlight and others love you for it. All victories are always best shared. Follow your heart.
Reversed - Be cautious of developing a god complex. Your word does not veto everyone else's ideas.
Tarot reading clarification
This is a very advanced, yet satisfactory step. If you have not yet mastered giving a basic reading, do not overwhelm yourself with the next level step of clarifying readings just yet. The purpose of clarifying a reading is to get additional information or gain deeper clarity into the initial message/s received.
You can use the same deck for clarification or you may use a second deck for this purpose. Go with whatever guidance feels right to you. Remember that the more open you are to receiving further guidance, the more you can receive. The more curious minds often grasp tarot faster or find it most fascinating.
You may reach a stage where it feels that there's no more messages coming through or the energy has stopped flowing. This could be that the person you are reading for has learned all they need to at this point. Do not try to force a flow of energy. Sometimes lots of answers will come through, whilst other times you may find yourself only receiving vague references or none at all. Whatever transpires, know and trust that it is for the highest good of all involved. Just because someone wants an answer does not necessarily mean that they are ready for it.
Rider Waite Tarot Cups Energy
Cups is about our deeper emotional desires and needs; finding that one true love that fills your soul with light, the dream career, perfect life, children, etc. As human beings, we are forever seeking that higher connection that makes our hearts smile. This makes perfect sense, since the human journey is about seeking that higher, truer expression of ourselves.
Cups represent those outer manifestations from the inner that makes every moment of life worth living. Even though everything carries consciousness and therefore life, cups more represent those things we can refer to as that which breathes; people, animals, plants. Cups centers around those deeper connections that add amazing value to our lives and cause immense heartbreak when we become separated from these.
Nobody is an island. The suit of cups gets this, aiming at not only helping you find that one true love, perfectly suited for you at your particular point in your journey of life, it is also about uniting you with your soul family. We all came into this experience of life with the agreement of meeting multiple helpful folks along the way, both to be helped by them and to support their growth. Think of the suit of cups as your compass, pointing to your North in this very personal quest of life.
The presence of water on a planet, to a vast degree, renders it habitable. About 71% of earth is covered by water, with the oceans holding around 96.5% of that water. Only 3% of the earth's water is fresh. Water is forever around us, in visible and invisible forms. It changes molecular structure based on our energetic output, whilst our bodies consists of around 60% water. Why does all this matter...? Because our outer world responds to our inner relationship to it. How does it make you feel realizing that you are literally made of the same stuff of the ocean and the clouds floating about you in the skies? Really take some time to ponder that thought and do so often. It will completely change your entire outlook on life and of what you deem possible for yourself.
Rider Waite Tarot Ace of Cups

Rider Waite Tarot Four of Cups
Don't be too quick to say no to suggestions or offers. You may belief that you already possess all you need and want in your life, but how will you ever know if you do not give things a chance. If you are strongly compelled to say no today, then you can just as well ask for an extension and do so tomorrow. Something may happen in the interim that offers you a fresh take on things. Take an honest chance.
Wakey! Wakey! You may be about to miss out on one valuable opportunity here. No harm in considering something new.
Reversed - Be mindful of chasing shiny objects. Complete unfinished projects.
Rider Waite Tarot Five of Cups
Whatever you are hanging onto from the past, the time has come to let it go. Whoever was to blame, continuously pondering on it won't make it any different. Fixating on the past only creates more of it in the present and your future. Would you like that? Another thing, by focusing on the past you are overlooking incredibly amazing opportunities in the present. Don't let the shadows of the past cast a dimmer on today's potential.
Time to heal the past, so you can move forward into all the blessings that await you in the present.
Reversed - Past negative patterns have been overcome. Give yourself permission to move forward.
Rider Waite Tarot Six of Cups
The time has come to say bye bye to the past. You may have only recently realized that you are held back by your past, or perhaps you did not have what it took before to peacefully forgive and let go. Make peace with the younger version of yourself, another person, possibly your parents, even the Creator. Whatever you came to realize is holding your back, set it free. Perform a little (or big) releasing ceremony, if you feel this will help you move forward.
Forgive the past. People only act from their level of understanding, this includes you. Set your soul free to smile.
Reversed - Grant yourself the authority to truly be free, only you can do this.
Rider Waite Tarot Seven of Cups
All that glitters isn't gold. The promise of great fortune may have turned out to be dust in the wind. Disappointments are part of life. They can be powerful learning curves. When you really allow yourself to see it, it's quite clear how life is one big cycle repeating itself. So, if you can learn your lesson this time around and find a way to remember it in a loving way, you need not live through this pain again. That's incredible growth, you could even share it with others.
Reminder to self; it's okay to make a mistake. Indecision could be leading you into the red zone fast.
Reversed - Punishing yourself forever for past mistakes? That helps nobody, you least of all.
Rider Waite Tarot Eight of Cups
Eight of cups is an energy of stepping away from that which no longer serves you in positive ways. This need not be a tragedy. In fact, stepping away from that which no longer defines you to the more that does is empowering. Just because you have outgrown a situation doesn't make it wrong, it's just no longer suited to you and that is perfectly okay. Life is a series of incredible pitstops and continuing forwards, anyways.
Leaving the space of a lesson behind, stepping towards more. Heading in a very healthy direction.
Reversed - Lesson learned, but now you refuse to move on. This is a recipe for imminent disaster.
Rider Waite Tarot Nine of Cups
Oooh la la, what a lovely space to be in. You may have become so fixated on reaching for better and for more that you may not yet realize that your heart's desires are closer than you expect. Or, you may feel it in energy but still experience the pathological need to continue over-applying yourself. This is space in which you want to whisper sweet nothings to life; perhaps under the stars with your most exquisite beverage. Hopes can easily become reality for you now.
A breath of relief! Dreams coming true. You can look forward to some amazing things happening.
Reversed - Stuck on nitty gritties. Beware blocking your manifestations with because, because and because....
Rider Waite Tarot Ten of Cups
Your most perfect family ideals are promised as possible. It may be time to let go of some fears regarding whatever signifies that perfect family life for you. Sometimes contradictory fears withhold from us what our hearts deeply desire. Example; you want a family of your own but is also terrified it may negatively impact your career. Whichever is your highest priority is what the manifesting energy of life honors. You can have it all, but your energy needs to allow it!
Perfect family card; whatever that signifies to you. Fulfilling lifestyle your heart desires.
Reversed - Regardless how far your focus expands, keep your earth haven secure.
Rider Waite Tarot Page of Cups
There is that little voice whispering deep within you , saying that it is coming. You may doubt that, but a part of you can't be swayed from knowing whatever makes your heart smile and cells sparkle is pretty much on its way. This is your sign that you are correct. Someone may offer you their cup of love or perhaps receive the offer from ready you. Something truly remarkable is offered to you here. Are you going to say yes to this magical energy offered to you?
When you know you know, and you may know that there's a new emotional connection coming for your heart.
Reversed - Closed off to new emotional connections, possibly feeling this renders you too vulnerable.
Rider Waite Tarot Knight of Cups
Oy, beware false prophecies and promises, especially from yourself to yourself. Are you being realistic about a new venture. You may be on the right track, but approaching it from a negative direction or perhaps you are still self-sabotaging from unhealed childhood trauma and inner patterns. There's great promise here, but not if you insist on looking at life through rose tinted glasses.
Things may be all positive, but is it realistic? Is someone the savior and someone the victim here? Beware of codependency.
Reversed - Perhaps you were always in love with being in love, but that pattern is healed now. You are ready for a healthy connection.
Rider Waite Tarot Queen of Cups
Hard work paying off, especially in good hard cash and rewards that outweigh the good of money. The queen of cups is keeping her focus on the end goal, she understands what she is working for. Of course, this is tarot so energies are not gender-specific, and only acknowledging the presence of all energy possibilities within each of us. Psychic abilities may be heightened, especially at night or during rainy/stormy weather.
Psychic flow. Natural empath. Highly empathetic. That's all good, but to best serve humanity you need to be energetically aligned.
Reversed - Being completely closed off emotionally is as draining and lonely as being too painfully wide open.
Rider Waite Tarot King of Cups
Reached a level of energy balance where the world and its shenanigans continues to flow, yet you realize that you need to be determined by it. You may be experiencing increased deja vu, which is just a sign that you are beginning to see the matrix of life for the splendid simulation it is. Practice conscious energy manipulation. Strongly consider starting or advancing law of attraction practices or quantum psychics studies.
Balance between genuinely caring, giving, sharing and preserving. One serves best from a filled cup that remains full.
Reversed - Throwing yourself under the bus for others, turning yourself into a doormat, believing this is honorable.
Tarot spreads
There are literally hundreds of tarot spreads out there. The most basic of these are a one, two or three cards spread, along with a celtic cross. You may wish to start off with these. If they work for you then go with these. If not, then open yourself to different ones. There are multiple examples available all over the internet. Better yet, you may choose to invent your own, in whichever way you are guided. Regardless how ancient and well-respected a specific card spread is, remember that a human being (same as you) invented it at some stage, so why can't you?
Whichever spread you finally land on, the basic focus of all tarot readings comes down to the three following aspects:
CURRENT What is the current situation.
PAST Energy that contributed to the current space.
FUTURE Where your current energy is leading you.
Keep asking questions or focusing on the main goal of the reading, whilst shuffling and drawing cards. Open-ended questions open you to a wider array of universal guidance, as opposed to close-ended ones.
Tarot spread: three cards draw
Three card spreads can once again be applied in whichever way suits you, but they typically focus on the present, past and future. It is important to remember that the future is not set. Your current energy expression is what determines your future life experience. If you like this, then great. If not, you can change it. This is the reason why many energy practitioners are drawn to tarot reading or tarot readers often get into energy practice, such as crystal healing. Of course, none of these are requirements for you in the slightest. In all that you do, always follow your heart. It will not lead you astray.
Rider Waite Tarot Suit of Swords
Swords carry the energy of air. Whereas wands and to a degree cups are considered divine feminine energies, dealing with matters of the heart and accompanying emotions, swords and to a degree pentacles (the last suit covered) are considered more divinely male/masculine energies. Nobody really likes swords, in the sense that they represent the things that make us feel worried, angry, frustrated, uncomfortable, self-doubting and afraid.
Swords are the lessons we need to become aware of, the challenges we need to work through and the lessons we need to learn, in order to move forward in life. Swords are effectively our growing pains. Swords holds up the mirror of truth and remind us; if you'd like to move forward, this is the battle you have to face. It's about the ditches we need to build bridges over and the negative subconscious patterns we feel trapped by, yet are ready to be free from. Swords are those things that go bump in the night.
After building a more solid bond with yourself through wands and healthy support structures with others via the journey of cups, you are ready to walk that more challenging path where we need the courage to be brave. Swords are synonymous to the dark night of the soul and inner child healing. Some of these turning points are tough as nails, but everyone is born with the potential to overcome these. They become the light at the end of our tunnel. Swords is the last leg before the good is ushered in.
Think of this air energy of swords like the wind. You may not be able to see the wind itself, but whichever direction it is moving in, is the direction in which it is propelling movements carrying all its path along. The same is true for the motion of our thoughts. We may need to alter direction of our thoughts, aimed in the desired direction, yet not too weakly or too strongly either. It is that fine balance which makes everything so good. This suit is marked by the color purple, a color often associated with spiritual growth.
Rider Waite Tarot Ace of Swords
You may not like something that has or is about to surface. It may discourage you deep down into your bones. It may feel like the furthest thing from a blessing, but this is a space of Spirit coming through for you strongly. Sometimes, we need to learn what the ugly truth is so we can heal from it and move past it. Have you neglected your crown a bit. The time has come to straighten it, along with your neck while you are at it. You are a born winner. If others can do it, then so can you!
Divine intervention. Truth coming to the surface. Painful situation that has the potential to be healed.
Reversed - Possible underhand activity withheld from you. People with negative intentions. Don't trust blindly.
Rider Waite Tarot Two of Swords
This space just sucks. Crippling confusion may be present. You may feel utterly defeated, but always bear in mind that it is always darkest before dawn. Possibly experiencing the strong desire to move forward plus give up completely simultaneously. Consider that you may be very tired and overthinking things. Beware making binding decisions from a point of desperation. Could you be burned out and just need some deep, recuperating rest?
Inner conflict. Might you have already achieved what you set out to gain? Breathe, be kind to yourself.
Reversed - Often when the answer feels furthest away it's closest. Don't trip yourself up.
Rider Waite Tarot Three of Swords
You made it through. Your heart has healed. The pain and disappointment may still be there, and that's okay. You will get through that last bit too. Now you are ready to move forward decisively. A broken heart need no longer lead you astray. If you are looking for a silver lining go look in the mirror Consider the lessons you learned as a direct result of the challenges you went through. You got what it takes.
Your heart has healed. You went through a lot, now it is time to turn your feel the sun again.
Reversed - Be careful of romanticizing hurt, carrying it like a war scar trophy. Forgive, heal and move on.
Rider Waite Tarot Four of Swords
After much preparation, you are finally ready to move to that next level of awesomeness. The challenges you faced haven't broken you and now you are stronger than ever before. Take some time out to rest and allow things to shift into gear. It may be time to focus on more of what brings you inner peace, be this your religious, spiritual. gardening or fishing practice. Great things are heading your way. Get ready to receive.
Growing into your next level strength. Even positive growth can be draining. Take some personal time.
Reversed - Holding onto the way things used to be, good or bad. Life catapults forwards, you have to merge with it.
Rider Waite Tarot Five of Swords
Is past controversy inviting you back? You want to say thank you, but no thank you. As can happen with anyone, you may have let your guard slip a bit. That's okay, but now you want to become very clear (especially to yourself) about what is yes and what is no for you. Be mindful of dwelling in the past, reminiscing on things you can't change. Forgive, hand over to Spirit and keep moving forward.
Perhaps you got a bit off track. Rerouting time. Beware of getting involved in things you already healed from.
Reversed - Are you being invited to the storm in their teacup? Why join that journey guaranteeing heartbreak?
Rider Waite Tarot Six of Swords
Have you been taking on too many opinions or none at all? You are heading into a calmer, more prosperous space. Perhaps you needed to work very long hours or couldn't sleep due to accumulating anxiety and on setting depression. Things are looking up for you. Be open to the ideas of others. You need not take on all their advice, but don't be closed off to the idea that others may have something of great value to offer. Tough efforts paying off soon.
Might be time to row your ship out of murky waters towards kinder shores.
Reversed - Time to take some inventory; are there some freeloaders on board? You cannot heal those who aren't ready.
Rider Waite Tarot Seven of Swords
Be sure to play fair and that others do the same for you. Underhand schemes and little white lies, despite how "innocent", may come back to burn you badly. There's many things you healed from and stepped away from. Keep on walking. Sometimes we forget how crappy the past was and romanticize ourselves into returning back to its hurt once again. Don't fall for this illusion of the mind.
Trickery and betrayal may be on the mind of someone you trusted, or could this be you?
Reversed - You may have overcome many things and learned many lessons. Don't go back to the spaces/people that robbed you of joy.
Rider Waite Tarot Eight of Swords
Might be time to have an eye to eye, heart to heart conversation with your ego. You may feel trapped and fear makes a humungous approach seem highly attractive. This need not be the case. Just because your problem is huge doesn't mean the solution has to be, too. One small change in mindset, action or belief could turn things around for you powerfully. Often after a good time out the solution presents itself. Beware overthinking.
You are not trapped, just in a sticky situation. This too shall pass, eventually everything does.
Reversed - Congratulations, you learned many lessons and because of that you will grow through this challenge, also.
Rider Waite Tarot Nine of Swords
Worry, fear, stress, anxiety... in this mindset all a person sees is calamity. What could go wrong next? May be your current mindset. Lots of personal challenges may have brought you to this point. Be that as it may, you want to bear in mind that as you believe so you shall receive. Possibly having trouble sleeping. To find your solution, start by focusing on your physical needs first; hydration, nutrition, fresh air, sleep. An exhausted body clouds the mind.
Excessive, terror-filled, anxious worries. Self-fulfilling negative prophecies. Lack of sleep. Need for kindness to the self.
Reversed - Stuck in the past. Set on getting even. Glamorizing past suffering, even declaring it a gift from Spirit.
Rider Waite Tarot Ten of Swords
Slow your horses. You may have been through hell, but as the good old saying goes; If you are going through hell it is strongly advised that you best continue marching. Also, you are still here and that definitely counts for something! You may have underestimated yourself. Definitely time to let go of something or someone and be free of that energy now. Let the past go.
Very painful, yet necessary, ending. Situation served its purpose. Letting go will bring great relief.
Reversed - Free from that burden, you feel as if you can breathe again. Keep doing what's right for you.
Rider Waite Tarot Page of Swords
You are a well of sparkling ideas right now. Perhaps you recently had a lightbulb moment. That idea was divinely inspired. Be careful of chasing greener pastures that may disappoint. Be sure to do your homework, thoroughly, but do so in search of solutions as opposed to the idea of looking for what could go wrong. Be mindful of becoming so entranced in your excitement that you neglect to consider how your actions affect others.
Sharp mind energy! Answer to everyone's prayer. Too blunt an approach may hurt some people deeply.
Reversed - Don't hide your genius, it may only frustrate you or worse, turn you into an evil genius. Be careful.
Rider Waite Tarot Knight of Swords
Swoosh, look at that mind of yours, going a mile a minute. Sometimes this can be a bad thing, but it need not be in your case. Charging forward with passion and willpower. It is important to keep on checking back in with yourself and the plan as you progress through it. In this space, things have a tendency to change very fast. You want to be sure that your actions, especially the highly passion-fueled ones, are not simply you fighting your own demons from the past.
Fastest moving energy in the entire tarot deck. True genius possibility. At least make some sort of plan before proceeding.
Reversed - Making a plan is good, but also be sure to not sit in the company of pathological procrastinators.
Rider Waite Tarot Queen of Swords
The queen of swords has the most gentle heart, but everyone can't see it. She understands that she serves best by establishing where and how she can serve optimally, in ways that serve her own and everyone else's highest good. She is not understood or even appreciated by everyone, but she understands that unfortunately this isn't always possible. She understands how to direct her energy best to serve best. How do you relate to her?
Kind, gentle, humorous, compassionate, seen it all and been through it all energy. Remember, you can't save everyone.
Reversed - Sometimes the only healing anyone needs is a compassionate, non-judgmental ear and a hug.
Rider Waite Tarot King of Swords
The strongest leaders in this world don't hide behind stoic faces and measured waves from the wrist. You are not expected to curtsy in front of them. To them social categorizing (which simultaneously exalts and excludes) is ludicrous. This is the king of swords; a natural leader, a team player, one who leads by healthy, respectful example. He understands the power of inclusion versus the winner and loser mentality. This is your goal in energy, right now.
Wise, experienced, great at taking the lead in the public arena. Showing deep emotions is okay.
Reversed - Just because you see the potential in others doesn't mean you must push them to apply it.
Extended 3 cards tarot readings are simply building on the original 3 cards draw. The focus remains past, present and future. However, instead of for exampling drawing 1 card for the present only, one draws 2 or 3 instead, so you get a broader explanation of the tarot story in your draw.
Rider Waite Tarot Suit of Pentacles
Pentacles is the chest of gold at the end of the rainbow. Where cups represent our more emotionally experienced manifestations, pentacles are the more physical ones; house, car, job, money, security; effectively money and the things money can buy. Pentacles are the physical manifestations from our passions and they are no less valuable or important than the more heartfelt ones, in fact the two compliment each other.
The suit of pentacles represents Earth energy. Apart from the physical, it also represents all that is affected by our physical experience of life, be this good or bad; health, our relationships with our neighbors, our teachers, how we interact with the broader spectrum of our community and loved ones. Remember, when you don't have to worry about paying the bills, you are more relaxed and our interactions with others are automatically calmer as a direct result.
Pentacles, being and earth energy, also focuses on issues concerning our planet, the environment, the universe, cosmos, even the seasons and some aspects personal to us as individuals, like religion, tradition, spirituality, history/our past, previous lives, etc. Pentacles may seem like the happy-go-lucky space, but if we do not maintain its balance, it can quite easily revert back to a sword's energy. It is a good idea to surround yourself with positive reminders that you are the one creating and maintaining your life experiences. Giving tarot readings focused on helping and teaching are such options.
Rider Waite Tarot Ace of Pentacles
This is a truly magical energy. Solutions, especially those pertaining to money, could come through for you from expected and unexpected sources. You may receive a sudden payout from an investment you forgot you made, an inheritance, perhaps you win the office draw. There's not need for you to try and plan this out. The solution is already set in place, all you need to do is remain in the receiving mode so it may continue flowing to you.
Divine intervention. Sudden financial windfall. Unexpected opportunity to make more money. Promotion, inheritance.
Reversed - Out of the flow of abundance. Very unhealthy, toxic, destructive energy.
Rider Waite Tarot Two of Pentacles
Have you felt like you needed to juggle too many balls lately? Perhaps you were still able to get to everything you needed to, but have you been able to make time for yourself? Does it feel like you are heading for burnout? Well, the good news is that things are about to change for you. Space to breathe is coming up. A great opportunity you thought was lost forever may present itself again.
Change in the winds. Potential for great financial change. Could be handling too many things at once.
Reversed - Doing many things, but is anything really paying off? Might be time for a pros and cons list.
Rider Waite Tarot Three of Pentacles
What to do? What to do? A new opportunity may be presenting itself, along with the annoyance of not coming with a guaranteed outcome of success if you choose the new, braver choice. You can follow the path that you know, but that brings you right back to this point where you are now? Are you satisfied in your current space. Taking the road less travelled may hold great treasure, happiness, confidence and love for you. Dealer's choice.
New or old, which do you choose? Growth opportunity that asks for great courage. Always bring your passion.
Reversed - Stagnation. Choosing a familiar choice from fear versus logic, which may lead to repeated familiar pain.
Rider Waite Tarot Four of Pentacles
Are things really balanced for you right now or are they just comfortable because they are familiar? Could you be turning a blind eye to changes in physicality and mindset you need to take? To maintain balance and to grow, it is important to acknowledge all your needs; physical, spiritual, emotional and mental. You may need to re-asses your priorities. An already perceived perfect plan may be in need of minor tweaking.
Does it make sense in both your head and your heart? That's how you attain and maintain stability.
Reversed - No need to turn your world upside down over everything. Certainty isn't always guaranteed.
Rider Waite Tarot Five of Pentacles
Are you feeling at the end of your rope, like all hope is lost? Have you done every last thing you can possibly conceive of, yet it feels like things are progressively going from bad to worse? Perhaps it is your mindset you need to focus on. Sometimes we don't realize that even from the best of intentions, we can create problems for ourselves because subconsciously we are dodging the past. Could this be possible in your case?
Feeling left out in the cold, neglected, done in, betrayed. Suffering brought on by negative thinking, mostly.
Reversed - Praying/asking without believing a solution will come is a pointless action. Try to relax a little bit.
Rider Waite Tarot Six of Pentacles
The intention behind your actions determines the outcome. You can do all the right things, but if your intentions are not coming from an honorable place, then success will continue to elude you. Personal finances may be balancing for you here. The good deeds you have committed in the past, even those small actions you may not have considered great, are coming back as positive life events.
Give and you shall receive, but also be sure to give with honorable intentions, not just to look good.
Reversed - Good intentions, but be sure to not throw your money to the swine.
Rider Waite Tarot Seven of Pentacles
Is it not just wonderful when a plan comes together? You may have worked really hard to get something off the ground. How wonderful to now see its fruition beginning to take shape. Continue the small, daily tasks that brought you to this point. Remember, the future isn't set and if you change what you do so does the promised outcome. Be sure to maintain your passion and don't loose sight of why you started in the first place.
Keep on eye on the end goal, yet don't fail to give gratitude for small, daily accomplishments too.
Reversed - Beware of developing tunnel vision, focusing so much on the end goal that you neglect current interests.
Rider Waite Tarot Eight of Pentacles

Rider Waite Tarot Reading Learning Motivation
Learning the tarot can be tedious, no need to sugar coat the truth. After giving it your all, you may begin to feel like it's a useless task and that you will never master the tarot. If this is your experience, I suggest you give yourself a little break, take some you time and then, when you feel ready again, give things another try.
Once you start doing readings, look for patterns. Are you getting several cards indicating success, the need to release toxicity, a breakthrough, etc? Then the cards are trying to tell you something. Look for patterns in what you see and also in what you don't see. For example, let's say you do a reading and in one spread you draw three pentacle cards. Which one is missing? Perhaps that is a thought pattern you need to be open to or that is imbalanced, possibly blocked by unresolved inner fear...?
There is no one right or wrong way to read the tarot. Be patient with yourself, allow your connection with the tarot to grow, knowing that practice makes perfect. Rome wasn't built in a day, and you are not going to become a master tarot reader overnight. However, you may find yourself connecting to the energy in a powerful way from the very first moment or perhaps your journey takes a bit longer.
However your tarot path unfolds, give yourself credit for the achievements you are reaching, as opposed to criticizing yourself incessantly over not being as good as this or that person. Go online, find readers you really resonate with and learn from them. Give yourself time. Before you know it, you can find yourself reading the tarot like a true oracle.
Love, light and wishing you only the highest success in life!!!

Learning to read the Tarot is life transforming. Tarot is truly about the journey of life, as a soul having a human being experience. If you ever wanted to get a good grasp on how the law of attraction operates, learning the Tarot provides just that.
Tarot readings essentially focus on these areas
* Your current/present energy
* Your opportunities and blockages in your current energetic space
* Your recent past, meaning what is on your mind mostly, and how that led to your present life circumstances
* Lessons from your past
* How your subconscious beliefs about yourself and life affect your experience of life
* The direction in which your current energy is taking you
* Your strengths in your current life space/energy
* Areas of improvement in your life you will benefit from working on
* And literally, so much more.....
A common misconception about learning to read the Tarot is that you have to do it exactly as your trainer does. In teaching another person how to read the Tarot, we as teachers share the ancient knowledge with you. Yet, it is only through applying yourself that you build a personal relationship with all the beauty Tarot has to offer.
Please understand that the Tarot is not a way of predicting the future. Our present life circumstances are created in the past and based on what we focus on today will determine what our future will look like. Tarot reading is about empowerment, pointing out to another person their personal power. In learning how to provide this valuable service to another, you will also discover it within yourself. How exciting is that?
As a person who has been reading the Tarot since 2001, it is my divine pleasure and honor to present this Detailed Tarot Reading Course to you. May you find great value from it.
Forever love
