Mario Boßlau ist Professor für das Fachgebiet Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen und akademischer Direktor des Smart Innovation Institutes. Als Studiengangsleiter ist er auch für die Masterstudiengänge „Digitale Transformation“ und „Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen“ verantwortlich. Seine Schwerpunkte in Forschung und Lehre liegen in den Themenfeldern Geschäftsmodellentwicklung, Innovationsmanagement, Digitalisierung und Industrie 4.0.
Als Wirtschaftsingenieur umfasst sein Tätigkeitsfeld das Spannungsfeld zwischen Wirtschaft, Technologie und Digitalisierung. In der Forschung war er mehrere Jahre Leiter des Projektbereichs Lifecycle im DFG-Sonderforschungsbereich Transregio 29 „Engineering hybrider Leistungsbündel“. Als Experte für smarte Geschäftsmodelle hat er national und international Auszeichnungen erhalten. Unter anderem ist er Träger des Gert-von-Kortzfleisch-Preises 2016 für seine Forschungstätigkeiten im Bereich der Entwicklung dynamischer Geschäftsmodelle und System Dynamics.
Darüber hinaus kann er auf mehrere Jahre Erfahrung in verantwortungsvollen Positionen in der Praxis im Innovationsmanagement in der Automobilindustrie und der Energiebranche zurückgreifen. Weiterhin war er in der Geschäftsleitung eines industriellen Dienstleistungsunternehmens tätig. Der Umgang mit Menschen und die Vermittlung von Wissen machen ihm sehr viel Spaß. Deshalb ist auch seit vielen Jahren als Dozent an verschiedenen staatlichen Hochschulen und Universitäten aktiv.
Mario Bosslau holds a professorship in industrial engineering and is academic director of the Smart Innovation Institute. As program director, he is also responsible for the master's programs "Digital Transformation" and "Industrial Engineering". His focus in research and teaching is on business model engineering, innovation management, digitalization and Industry 4.0.
As an industrial engineer, his field of activity covers the areas of business, technology and digitalization. In research, he was head of the lifecycle project area in the DFG Collaborative Research Center Transregio 29 "Engineering of Industrial Product-Service Systems" for several years. As an expert for smart business models, he has received national and international awards. Among others, he is the recipient of the 2016 Gert von Kortzfleisch Award for his research activities in the field of dynamic business model development and System Dynamics.
In addition, he can draw on several years of experience in responsible positions in practice in innovation management in the automotive industry and the energy sector. Furthermore, he worked in the management of an industrial service company. He very much enjoys dealing with people and imparting knowledge. That is why he has also been active for many years as a lecturer at various state colleges and universities.
