Contrast is one of the core design principles and one of the most important principles when designing t-shirts.

Description

I bet in the last week you have looked at a t-shirt and though, that looks cool! I like that! I would wear that! We’re all really good at knowing what looks good, but do you know WHY it looks good? What makes that a great t-shirt?

This course is all about understanding WHY we like what we like. You can design. You may not know it yet, but you can. Design is a skill more than a talent, there are principles behind it. Principles that anybody can learn and practice.

I go over the design principles: Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity. What do they mean, how do we use them

I walk you through how I design shirts using these principles

We learn the art of the critiq. We look at existing shirts and talk about how to make them better. And how to use our design principles that we have learned to do that and how you can apply that to some of your best selling shirts to take them to that next level.

I will be talking about what design tools are out there so whether you are just dipping your toe in and don’t want to spend a lot up front of if you’re already making money and want to learn more about what the professionals use, I cover that here.

I will talk about resources. Where do designers get all those great fonts? Where can I find illustrations that are safe to use on my shirts? How can I find and hire a designer? How can I give that designer feedback to make my shirts even better.
