Meet your instructors, Hannah Chen and Lia Fetterhoff!
Get an overview of the four-phase Life Experience Design framework: Discover, Define, Design, and Deliver.
Let's warm up with a quick drawing and writing exercise to get your creativity flowing!
An overview of the Discover phase. Here you'll start to cultivate self-awareness about your current life and areas you want to make changes to. You'll also start getting clarity around what your ideal life could be like.
We'll cover the mind map exercise, where you'll brainstorm broadly about your current life situation.
Evaluate your life in four quadrants, both current and ideal. Understand how small or big the gap between your current and ideal in each area feels.
A quick recap of what we covered this week and what's to come.
Lia will go through a visualization exercise to help you get clearer on your ideal life, which will lead to a journaling exercise.
A few reflection questions to start journaling about your ideal self, ideal day, and ideal life.
Imagine what your ideal self would do day-to-day.
Figure out a timeframe for accomplishing milestones towards your ideal life.
Hannah provides a quick reminder of the purpose of ideal life visualizations. They're not intended to discourage you, but rather to foster optimism.
Identify your "moments that matter" from your past, where you felt aligned with your ideal self. This will help you connect with feelings and other elements that you want to incorporate as you think about the journey ahead.
By defining who you ideally want to be, you'll start to lay the groundwork for articulating your values, mission, and vision for your life.
Understand how having clarity around your personal vision and mission will allow you to be clear on and make smart, efficient decisions as you move through the design and deliver phases. We share examples of how well-known companies use a vision and mission for decision-making.
Consider those people who inspire you, and what their qualities are. This is the first part of the Heroes exercise, so do this before moving forward!
Learn why getting clear on your personal values is important. Make sure to do the Heroes exercise before starting this one.
Design principles are fundamental to good composition. Life principles derived from your values can serve as a reminder of how you plan to express your core values out into the world.
Tips on how to create your life vision by leveraging the previous exercises, and why a life vision can help you make better decisions.
Tips on how to identify your focus area for your design and examples on how to avoid getting to broad or too narrow.
Tips on how to brainstorm around each focus area, and why you don't want to narrow anything out yet. Anything goes!
Map out your projects in an easy grid and see which ones are the low-hanging fruit, or easiest to tackle.
Learn how to use a feather diagram to explore what parts of your life will change in your current life in order to serve your vision.
Visualize your ideal day in your space. Use lines on how you move in-between places. Get creative!
In the final phase, Deliver, you'll create an action plan and put together your insights from your past experiences.
Why accountability is important and how iteration plays an important part in the Life Experience Design process.
In six weeks, you will learn a lifetime skill. You can apply this 4-step framework of Discover, Define, Design, and Deliver to anything that life throws your way. Use it to pivot to a new job or career, discover an alternative to a hard decision, or simply build the confidence you need to keep moving forward.
Note: While you'll get access to the full course when you purchase, we recommend spending a week in each section. This will allow the learnings to sink in and cultivate the self-awareness and clarity that is at the heart of Life Experience Design.
Here's what you'll learn each week:
Week 1: Assess your current life
Identify exactly what your problem areas are and how to hone into what’s keeping you from your ideal life
Week 2: Discover your ideal life
Get clarity on your ideal life vision, including what’s already working for you that you might not realize
Week 3: Define your values and vision
Articulate exactly who you are and what you value in order to cut through indecisiveness and elevate your confidence in attracting your ideal life
Week 4: Design creative solutions for your ideal life
Strategize the most fulfilling ways for you to take steps towards your ideal life while honoring the responsibilities and obligations you have now
Week 5: Deliver an actionable game plan + your first step
Narrow down on an actionable plan and take your first step towards your ideal life by the end of this course.
Week 6: Reflect and wrap-up
Set yourself up for continued success by building in accountability, exit strategies, and opportunities to refine and pivot your plan. Because you will continuously be evolving as you attract more of what you want in life.

What participants from past Life Experience Design programs are saying:
“I love how you both share your personal and professional examples related to the process. It makes the problems relatable and the process attainable. I have been learning so much from your framework!” — Ayesha S.
“The framework I learned from the life experience design workshop helped me hash out some measurable and objective short-term goals rather than always focusing on the long-term ones and feeling like I wasn't accomplishing anything. Breaking things down into actionable items was one of the best takeaways I took from this exercise.” — Taylor Z.
"Having a laid out framework was very helpful and made sense to follow along with you. Using it as a talking point and for discussion, activities were very effective.” — Jaimie C., Design Your Life Experience: VIP Program client

Meet the founders & your facilitators, Lia and Hannah!
Lia Fetterhoff has over 12 years of crafting award-winning mobile and web experiences at SkySlope, Loanpal, Google, Nest, TIBCO, Attik, and consulting for startups.
Hannah Chen has been designing innovative solutions for a wide range of products: Lyft's front light-up emblem, Google Assistant, Google Payment, Oracle HR software, and more. Design methodology typically applies to products and services, but Hannah believes ‘design thinking’ can also be used in daily life.
How they met: Lia and Hannah sat next to each other at Google and realized they both had a passion for using design thinking to live more intentionally, which led to collaborating on Life Experience Design.
