Lecture 1 is about, Yacoub Abrahams, my dear friend making a bold move and asking for help publicly - hopefully through this course we can help others (God-willing)
Please share and hopefully it can reach people who needs to hear this...

He appears regularly on radio, and runs short courses on Success, NLP, Relationships, and his specialty, Sex Addiction.
Lecture 3 we visit an Occupational Therapist working in the mental health department (with a special focus on children) - Tasneem Dalwai
We remember her telling us about 9 or 10 year-old children in depression and thinking about suicide...
Lecture 4 with Dr Ranchod. Having been in practice for more than 20 years, Dr. Ranchod has a wealth of experience in dealing with a variety of conditions. His homeopathic experience has afforded him another toolset to assists his patients, giving them even more treatment options.
Homoeopathy recognises that symptoms often have their origins in immune system imbalances. So, when Dr. Ranchod develops a treatment plan, he not only considers the set of symptoms the patient presents with. He looks at their personality, characteristics, environment and their overall health and wellness. This allows for a more holistic treatment process.
Educating the patient about lifestyle changes is as important as medical treatment. Dr. Ranchod holds regular courses in homoeopathy, empowering patients to treat minor conditions themselves. If you are interested in attending one of these engaging courses, please do not hesitate to contact our offices.
We meet Mariam Salie a Clinical Psychologist in Lecture 5
Clinical psychology is an integration of science, theory and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development.
Central to its practice are psychological assessment, clinical formulation, and psychotherapy, although clinical psychologists also engage in research, teaching, consultation, forensic testimony, and program development and administration
We chat to Dr. Cheryl Daniel - Psychologist at Life St Vincent’s at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Cape Town.
It is a 35-bed short-term stay mental healthcare facility, providing in-house treatment for voluntary mental healthcare users. The principal forms of therapy used at the clinic are crisis counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, life skills training and electro-convulsive therapy.
Focused treatment is provided for specific conditions, such as anxiety disorders and depression, with therapeutic programmes conducted in small groups. Monitoring the patient’s views on all aspects of the service keeps this facility up to date with patients’ needs and enables employees to provide them with the best possible service at all times.

How do Know if You Have Depression:
Sadness. Are you often sad or low-spirited?
Emptiness or numbness. Do you feel as though you have no emotions at all, or have trouble feeling anything?
Hopelessness. Have you felt tempted to "give up", or had trouble imagining any improvement? ...
Guilt. Do you often feel guilty for little or no reason? ...
Worthlessness. Do you have a low sense of self-worth?
These are "embarrassing" conversations that we don't want to have with your spouse, partner or family/friends... Very often we keep it up inside.
This series will help you find more information about depression as we interview various professionals in their respective fields.
Enjoy
N.B - this is not medical advice - it's merely information
