An introduction and in-depth overview of the anatomy of the structures inside the mouth: The tooth, the gums, and the bone and how they are interrelated. Then a quick dive on the three layers of the tooth.
Bringing things together: Now that we covered the three layers of the tooth it is time to see how those anatomical structures show up on the x-ray. Also discover how cavities develop and how they show up on a digital x-ray (a brief overview).
It is important to know the teeth numbering system to better understand x-ray images
In this section you will learn how the face relates to the bony structures underneath the face, to have those bony structures show up on the panoramic x-ray. With that link, for the remainder of the course as we will also learn the names of different boney structures on the panoramic X-ray, you will understand how those anatomic structures relate to the Facial bone structures.
In this section we will be covering the various bone structures of the lower jaw, “the mandible”.
In this section will continue with the lower jaw structures and do a brief review to bring everything together.
Upper jaw structures and completion of the course
Now that we covered the lower jaw structures it’s time to cover the upper jaw structures which does not have too much that we need to know for the basics of this course and then we will provide some resources that could expand your knowledge base moving forward as the intent of this course was just to get you introduced to the basic structures of the lower face and how The dental anatomy in the oral cavity can relate to the dental x-rays.
