Hello and welcome to the Dealing with Uncooperative and Difficult Scrum Team Members course.
It is not uncommon to come across people at the workplace that can make your job more complicated than it has to be. These individuals are disrespectful, damaging, or just reluctant to work as part of a Scrum team.
When you're a Scrum Master, dealing with such individuals gets much more challenging. As you have no formal authority over them, it is more likely that you will face resistance and challenging behavior.
In this course, you will find several strategies you can use to deal with aggressive, uncooperative, difficult, and dominant Scrum Team Members.
I will show you some great ways the Scrum Master can help deal with such people, even if the management supports such behaviors.
You will understand what the Scrum Master can do if all his efforts fail in this regard.
If you already have to deal with this kind of situation. This course is for you. If you are just starting your Scrum career, I'm pretty sure that sooner or later you will also encounter it.
I have even had a situation where management tried to address it, it worked for a while, and then the difficult person reverted to their old style.
This course will help you in this ongoing battle.

Why is it important to deal with difficult people in your Scrum team?
If you don't deal with them then slowly everyone in your team will start to become aggressive. The fight and disagreement will become a daily issue within the team. Negative: These are the people who have lost all hope.
The first thing you need to understand is that you don't get mad for the reasons you think. So why do you get mad?
Feelings of anger arise due to how we interpret and react to certain situations. Everyone has their own triggers for what makes them angry, but some common ones include situations in which we feel:
threatened or attacked
frustrated or powerless
like we're being invalidated or treated unfairly
like people are not respecting our feelings or possessions
Self-control is part of a group of skills called executive function.
Self-control is the ability to regulate and alter your responses in order to avoid undesirable behaviors, increase desirable ones, and achieve long-term goals. Research has shown that possessing self-control can be important for health and well-being.
In this lecture, I will show you powerful Tips to Improve Self-Control.
In this lecture, we will find answers to these questions:
Why do we allow others to control us so easily?
Why do people allow other people to control them?
What humans can control?

How can you control others?
And more...
In this lecture, I will show you why you should see angry people as hurt, not bad.
There are many common triggers for anger, such as losing your patience, feeling as if your opinion or efforts aren't appreciated, and injustice. Other causes of anger include memories of traumatic or enraging events and worrying about personal problems.
What are the main causes of anger?
What are the symptoms of having anger issues?
Why do I get mad so easily for no reason?
Where do anger issues root from?
Some students asked me to recommend Scrum books.
So, I don't want to overwhelm you with too many books.
Here is just one Scrum Book review.

So if it's possible, get this book, read it and then continue with the course. Of course, you can continue without it...
Definition: Explanatory style is a psychological attribute that indicates how people explain to themselves why they experience a particular event, either positive or negative.
The purpose of this lecture is to Change the way you explain things to yourself.
In this lecture, WE WILL DO A SMALL EXERCISE!!!
Most of our reasons for getting mad are excuses.
We lack self-control, and we blame the other person for our weaknesses.
Why is it that when somebody says this, you have to instantly get mad?

Mutual respect is one of the core attributes an Agile organization needs to develop.
It is the foundation for establishing an aligned vision between management and staff, which is the replacement for compliance-driven command-and-control management in an Agile organization.
In this lecture, I will show you how to demonstrate mutual respect in the Scrum team.
Trust is the bedrock of self-organizing agile teams.
Trust allows agile teams to communicate quickly and respond rapidly to changes as they emerge.
Without sufficient trust, team members can waste effort and energy hoarding information, forming cliques, dodging blame, and covering their tracks.
Helping others feels good. Studies have found that acts of kindness are linked to increased feelings of well-being.
It helps to make the world a happier place...
What is kindness and why does it matter?
Why is kindness such an important value?
Why kindness is more important than anything?

In the simplest of terms, support is helping someone do something that they could do themselves in the right conditions while enabling is stepping in and mitigating consequences that would otherwise be a result of negative choices.
How can I be supportive but not enabling?
What is the difference between an enabler and a helper?
What is the difference between codependency and enabling?
When does helping become enabling?
Taking responsibility for your actions requires the realization that you play a part in every situation or experience and therefore, have some degree of responsibility for the outcomes or consequences.
You may have heard it referred to as accountability.
Why is it important to always take responsibility for your actions?
What is it called when you don't take responsibility for your actions?
Examples of responsible behaviors...
In order to stop being an easy target, you must admit to what's happening and acknowledge the pain it causes.

What’s a ‘friendly sniper’?”. A “friendly sniper” is someone who masks their offenses, criticism, and even hostile feelings towards someone with seemingly innocent jokes, jabs, and laughter.
This can get a little touchy because we’re gonna steer the conversation towards the topic of sarcasm for a bit (which, most of us utilize in some form or fashion daily). The problem arises when we use sarcasm as the primary means of communicating with others. When this happens, it becomes hard to know when someone is sincere or just messing around.
