235 scenario-based questions to test your Datadog skills and knowledge.
This course contains six practice test sets that mirror the format, difficulty, and question style of the Datadog Fundamentals Certification exam.
->Every single question includes per-option explanations: not just why the correct answer is right, but why each wrong answer is wrong and what misconception it is testing. The goal is not to make you memorize answers, but to teach you how the exam thinks.
Course structure
The six practice test sets map directly to the five official exam domains, plus one full-length mock exam:
Test 1, Observability Fundamentals (32 questions): the three pillars, golden signals, SLI/SLO/SLA, cardinality, MTTD and MTTR, and the core concepts the exam uses to frame every other domain.
Test 2, Agent Installation & Configuration (32 questions): installing on Linux, Windows, and Kubernetes; datadog.yaml; DD_API_KEY and DD_SITE; scalable configuration management; systemd; and the release-notes workflow.
Test 3, Data Collection, Integrations & Tagging (32 questions): unified service tagging (env, service, version), DogStatsD metric types, Autodiscovery, cardinality control, and integration config patterns.
Test 4, Agent Troubleshooting (32 questions): flares, the diagnose command, DNS and TLS failures, CrashLoopBackOff, embedded Python checks, NTP offsets, and 413 Payload Too Large errors from the logs intake.
Test 5, Dashboards, Monitors & Alerts (32 questions): widget types, all monitor types (metric, composite, outlier, anomaly, forecast, SLO, Watchdog), recovery thresholds, downtimes, and conditional templating.
Test 6, Full Mock Exam (75 questions, 90 minutes): a complete simulation that matches the real certification's format, pacing, and domain mix. Score above 80% here and you are ready for the real thing.
Why this course works
Every answer is explained option by option, so wrong answers teach as much as right ones. Questions and answer order reshuffle on each attempt, which means you build real understanding rather than memorizing positions. Scenarios place you in real incident situations, which is how the Datadog Fundamentals exam itself is written. The domain weighting across the six sets matches Datadog's official exam distribution.
What you walk away with
By the end of this course, you will know exactly whether you are ready for the certification, where your gaps are, and what to review before test day.
The Full Mock Exam in Test 6 gives you a clean, honest readiness score before you commit the exam fee.
