Description

This course is designed for analysts who are interested in skilling up on how to influence management/stakeholders in their role or those who are struggling with being heard. Each section is intended to last for 1 week to give you time to follow the actions from each module.

Being able to influence effectively is the lynchpin in truly seeing our data work being used in our organisations. Without it we are likely to feel frustrated and stuck. When we learn this subtle art, we will build up trust, be seen as integral to the organisation and start seeing movement in how our work is being used.

I’ve been working in data roles for nearly 20 years, and I have experienced firsthand the frustrations of trying to converse with stakeholders of various levels of seniority in the organisations I’ve worked with. And yet I know that learning how to do this has been the difference in seeing my work being used and making a difference; truly driving action for the benefit of the business. All of this has contributed to the growth and progression I’ve experienced.

Because I know how important the art of influence is, I want to share what I’ve learnt from the perspective of an analyst AND that of a manager. This isn’t like a book you’ll be picking up, having some ah-ha moments, but nothing changes. This is a course which is designed to shift your perspective and start changing the way you approach your data work so that you move from feeling frustrated to feeling empowered.
