Grab a chair and come join me for this short and active chair yoga dance class. We start with a warm up; moving the body with the breath, flow into a sun salutation and then move to the rhythm of this easy to follow chair yoga dance. If you're as old as I am I'm sure you will recognise this song from the 70's disco era. 'You to Me Are Everything' by The Real Thing. The words are awesome. I hope you love it as much as I do.
At 3:00mins The Dance Begins. Six minutes and you'll be smiling too. No matter whats happening in your life, no matter what challenges you are facing, take time out for gratitude and a love for life.
This is a 25 minute yoga class that pretty much everyone can do. If you need to move, exercise your joints and get happy at the same time then let's do this.
My niece and I had fun with this short Chair Yoga Dance. My niece found toy hammers and bells so we could really get into the song lyrics and start learning the dance moves. It just goes to show that Chair Yoga is a great practice for everyone!
25 minutes moving the body with the breath, lubricating the joints and strengthening core muscles. Manage stress, slow down the ageing process, stretch and strengthen with Chair Yoga.
Take 20 minutes to do this simple meditation to calm the mind and body, activate the rest and digest nervous system, to become focused and relaxed and then sink deeper into a space of higher consciousness and deep inner peace.
This a slow flowing yoga class for beginners. You do need a yoga mat to ensure you have a solid grip during this class. Also have a firm cushion nearby. If it's your first yoga class, listen to your body, don't push or force. Stay within your limitations and simply enjoy moving the body with the breath.
Dance Chair Yoga is really for everyone who requires the support of a chair whilst moving the body to a range of music. As we get older so many of us become more sedentary. Without realising it, we’re taking shallow breaths, our muscles and joints start to lose their fluidity. Over time, we also tend to lose our mobility and as a result we feel less enthusiastic and motivated. And NO, it’s not because you’re getting old! The solution to maintaining a love for life, a healthy body and a clear mind is to regularly participate in safe, supported exercise.
No matter if you’re 56 years old like me or 95, chair yoga is an awesome way to reinstate your love for life again, to feel great from the inside out gain and regain clarity, focus and gratitude for everything you have.
Chair yoga is also a great way to exercise the mind and body following trauma. Having the support of the chair gives you the confidence to move more freely without the risk of further injury.
Once you have completed the course, please contact me for a Certificate of Completion. I hope you enjoy this course as much as I did making it.
Many blessings
Marie
