- In this course, the students will get to have an understanding on how Cyberlaw as a legal discipline evolved; what were the beginnings; what important developments in the early days of Cyberlaw jurisprudence significantly impacted the growth and development of Cyberlaw as a discipline. The students will further get to know how the early developments in the mid 1990s and early 2000s impacted the shaping of cyber laws globally and how Cyberlaw as a discipline has started evolving in different parts of the world. In this course, the students will be enable to have familiarity with the early stages of Cyberlaw as a legal discipline and the foundations which were responsible for the subsequent further development of Cyberlaw jurisprudence.

In this course, the students will have an overview of the importance and significance of Cyberlaw as a discipline of legal study. The students will further get to know how Cyberlaw as a discipline evolved given the early advent and growth of the Internet and the World Wide Web. The students will further get to understand of how early developments in Cyberlaw jurisprudence were remarkably shaped up and influenced by the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce and UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Signatures and further how these early developments in the beginning era of Cyberlaw gave a foundation head start for the further development and evolution of Cyberlaw as a legal discipline.
- The target students would be any person who are interested in the discipline of Cyberlaw and its early beginnings. These could be law students, law professionals, lawyers, advocates and also any other professionals working in the intersection of law and technology who are interested on how Cyberlaw as a discipline began and what were the early milestones in the development of Cyberlaw jurisprudence at a global level.
