1. Identifying Your Values
Reflect on moments in your life when you felt truly happy, proud, or fulfilled. What was happening, and why did those moments mean so much to you?
Look at the provided list of values in the download. Which resonates with you? Choose your top 5.
2. How Have Your Values Been Showing Up?
For each of your top 5 values, recall specific instances where you've acted in alignment with that value.
Example: If one of your values is 'compassion', think of a time when you went out of your way to help someone or showed empathy.
3. Expressing Your Values
How do you currently express each of these values in your daily life?
What behaviors or habits demonstrate these values?
Are there any values you wish you could express more? Why?
4. What Hinders Your Values?
Are there any external barriers or internal conflicts preventing you from living according to your values?
Reflect on situations where you felt torn or conflicted. Was it because a value was being suppressed or overlooked?
5. The Impact of Living (or Not Living) By Your Values
How do you feel when you can fully express and live by your values?
What happens to your energy, motivation, and mood when you're aligned with your values? What happens when you are not? How does your living in alignment / misalignment with your values impact those around you?
Exploring Your Key Skills
Every skill you've honed over time narrates a chapter of your journey. However, it's vital to distinguish between the skills that ignite your passion and those you perform out of necessity. By doing this, you ensure your CV truly mirrors your career desires.

Every superhero has their unique superpowers. Similarly, in the professional realm, we all have special skills or attributes that make us stand out. We call these attributes our "SUPERPOWERS." Rather than just listing traditional skills on your CV, why not showcase your superpowers? This creative approach can make your CV more memorable and demonstrate your unique value proposition.
Examples: Refer to the sample CVs for a visual representation. Here, you will see how individuals have highlighted their superpowers in an engaging manner. For instance:
Sales Mastery, Strategic Planning & Executing, Positive Leadership, and so on.
How to Choose Your Superpowers:
Reflect on Your Strengths: Think about what sets you apart in your field or in your past roles. What skills or attributes have been particularly beneficial?
Consider Feedback: Think back to compliments or positive feedback you've received from colleagues, bosses, or peers. Often, others can see our superpowers more clearly than we can.
Be Authentic: While it's fun to be creative, ensure the superpowers you list genuinely resonate with your professional persona.
Suggestions for Superpowers: Depending on your creativity and what aligns with your experience, here are some Superpowers you can consider for your CV. Aim for 6 to a maximum of 8 to keep it concise:
Bridge Builder: Excellent at connecting teams or departments.
Change Agent: Always at the forefront of driving change.
Champion of Change: Embraces and promotes positive changes.
Creative Catalyst: Innovator in thought and action.
Data Dynamo: Skilled at harnessing data to derive insights.
Diplomacy Dynamo: Adept at handling sensitive situations with tact.
Dots Joiner: Recognizes patterns and connections others might miss.
Empathy Elevator: Builds rapport and understands others' feelings deeply.
Energy Elevator/Enabler: A source of positivity and motivation.
Growth Mindset: Always seeking ways to grow and learn.
Lifelong Learner: Continuously updating skills and knowledge.
Making Things Work: Problem-solving pro.
Making Work Fun: Brings joy and light-heartedness to the workplace.
Negotiation Ninja: Masters the art of finding a common ground.
Outside the Box Thinker: Thinks creatively and isn't confined by traditional boundaries.
Positive Intelligence Guru: Maintains a positive outlook even in challenging situations.
Psychological Safety: Creates a safe environment for open dialogue.
Resilience Rock: Stands firm and bounces back from setbacks.
Your CV is more than just a list of your qualifications and experiences. It's a reflection of who you are and what you bring to the table. By highlighting your superpowers, you're showcasing the unique attributes and skills that make you an invaluable asset. Choose superpowers that resonate with you and remember to provide context or examples during interviews. Stand out, be memorable, and let your superpowers shine!
Finally we'll focus on creating a standout "About Me" section for your CV!
Check the download for Examples.
Why the "About Me" Section Matters:
The "About Me" section is your first impression on a CV. It encapsulates your professional essence, giving a snapshot of who you are, your skills, and your passions. It tells your story, ensuring you're not just another name in a pile of CVs.
Key Elements of a stellar "About Me":
Personal Introduction: This isn't just your job title. It's your professional identity. Are you a 'dynamic sales strategist'? Perhaps a 'passionate translational scientist'?
Journey Snapshot: Briefly touch on your professional journey. Did you pivot industries? Did you find an unexpected passion?
Skills and Strengths: Highlight 2-3 core skills or strengths that differentiate you from others. This is not just about what you do, but how you do it.
Achievements and Impacts: Instead of just listing accomplishments, talk about the change you brought about or the value you added.
Unique Selling Proposition (USP): What makes you, YOU? Do you have a multicultural perspective? Maybe a unique combination of skills?
Personal Touch: End with a personal note. This could be related to languages you speak, hobbies you have, or simply something unique about you.
Steps to Craft Your "About Me":
Reflection: Think deeply about your journey, skills, achievements, and what makes you unique. Take a moment to jot down thoughts or words that resonate with you.
Drafting: Start by writing a longer version than needed. It's easier to trim down than to add.
Editing: Refine your draft. Ensure you've captured your essence without being too wordy.
Feedback: Share your draft with a trusted colleague or friend. Their perspective can be invaluable.
Examples to Inspire You:
Remember, your "About Me" is not set in stone. As you grow professionally, it should evolve to mirror your journey and aspirations. This section, when done right, can be the hook that gets your CV the attention it deserves!
Attached in the DOWNLOAD you will find multiple examples of CVs, and a KEYWORD file, however, feel free to find and use your own.
Drafting Your CV
A CV showcases your qualifications, experiences, and skills, targeting potential employers. It’s one of your tickets to standing out and being memorable.
To make it, we need to first go inside out so:
Don’t list your role but actually how you made a difference in it and your key achievements for each role. You should have an updated photograph of your headshot that looks professional. Ideally, use the same headshot on LinkedIn to give yourself a consistent personal brand.
Make sure that your CV is “peppered” with your strengths and a sense of your passion and sense of purpose comes through. Also, ensure that it contains the keywords from the job ad, as often the first screening is done by a bot.
Ensure clarity and conciseness, and tailor it to the specific job roles, highlighting relevant skills and proofreading for errors or inconsistencies.
The visual appearance of your CV plays a pivotal role in creating the first impression. It usually takes someone 4 seconds to decide if they are going to read your CV or not, and this will depend 100% on the format! You can find many different templates in Word, PPT, Canva, etc. A clear, well-organized layout makes it easier for hiring managers to scan and pull out essential details quickly. Before diving into the sections of your CV, remember that consistent formatting speaks to professionalism. Stick to one font family, use bold or italics judiciously to emphasize key points, and maintain uniform spacing. Your goal is readability and instant comprehension.
Be sure to put some links to your content, publications, and/or social media.
