In this video you will learn how you can configure your Civil 3D platform for making it easy to select your Civil 3D templates. The Templates Settings, in the Civil 3D profile, can be used to set the default folder location and QNEW template. Configuring these settings in your Civil 3D profiles will save you time by making it easier and faster to select your templates. If you need access to templates in different folders, you can add Folder Shortcut into Places.
In this video you will learn how to copy styles and settings between drawings and templates. Styles can be copied between 2 open drawing files using the Civil 3D Tooslpace. In Master View, you can drag and drop a style or style group from another open drawing file in the current Civil 3D session. Another option that you can use is to import styles from another drawing, which allows you to also import the Settings that are different between the 2 drawing files. A third option is to use Reference Templates, where Civil 3D Styles and Settings can be imported, but also other CAD standards like Layers, Blocks, and Property Sets.
In this video you will learn how to use Reference Templates to import Civil 3D and AutoCAD styles and settings. One or more Reference Templates can be used to import Civil 3D Styles and Settings, along with CAD standards, like Blocks, Linetypes, Text Styles, and Property Sets. If a change is made to the Reference Template, updates will be pushed to the host drawing files when re-opened or reloaded. If duplicates are encountered, the Reference Template priority can be adjusted or styles and settings turned off in higher priority templates so the nested options can be used in the host drawing. If you need to edit a referenced style or setting, you can copy it into the host drawing and make changes.
In this video you'll learn the best approach for creating new object styles in Civil 3D.
In this video you will learn how to create a custom view style. View Styles are used in Civil 3D for Profile and Sections Views, and for Mass Haul Diagrams. The general settings are similar for all views, and this video will review some of those general settings to help you get started to customize your view styles. The best approach to take when customizing view styles, is to copy an existing style, then use the style in your drawing file to make interactive refinement
In this video you will learn how to create and customize a table in Civil 3D. Tables are used for a variety objects in Civil 3D, including to create line and curve tables, point tables, pipe network tables, and volume tables. Regardless of what type of table you are creating, the Table Styles have similar features and settings that you can use to customize the data properties and display settings for your tables.
In this video you will learn how to leverage Label Style Defaults to preset, and push, label styles to subordinate level label styles in your Civil 3D drawing files. Label styles can be leveraged at different hierarchy levels in your Civil 3D drawings to provide greater flexibility in the management of labels, including giving you the ability to override subordinate edits to a label style, remove child overrides, and lock given parameters in a label st
In this video you will learn how to create and edit a label style in Civil 3D. Label Styles are unique for each object type, but the tools used to create the label style is the same throughout the platform. All Civil 3D labels are authored using the Label Style Composer and the Text Component Editor. This video demonstrates how to create a Point Label style, but these tools and techniques covered will help you for all Civil 3D labels.
In this video you will learn how to create a custom band styles for Civil 3D Graphs. Bands are used to label and annotate views, like Profile and Section Views. Bands can be added to the Top or Bottom of the view, and can include a labeling for Profile Data, Horizontal & Vertical Geometry, Super elevation Data, Sectional Data, Pipe & Pressure Networks. Band Styles can be applied to views individually or by using Band Sets.
In this video you will learn how to create a custom Band Set to use for Profile Views created in Civil 3D. Band Sets can be used for Profile and Section Views to quickly and easily label object data. Multiple Bands can be added to the top or bottom of the view using gaps and settings to control the label frequency.
In this video you will learn how to set the default Drawing Settings in your current Civil 3D drawing. Drawing Settings are the highest level of settings that you can define in your Civil 3D drawings. In the Drawing Settings you can preset the Units and Zone, Transformation settings, Object Layers, Abbreviations, and Ambient Settings. Establishing the defaults at this level will propagate down to lower levels in the drawing file, including the Feature and Command Settings. Although Drawing Settings can be overridden by the Feature and Command Settings, the Drawing Settings can override any child overrides.
In this video you will learn how to configure the Feature Settings in your Civil 3D drawings. Feature Settings can be used to override Drawing Settings and to assign defaults for Object types, like surfaces, alignments, and many others. Configuring the Feature Settings in your templates can help to enforce standards on your projects.
In this video you will learn how to set the default Command Settings in a Civil 3D drawing. Command Settings can be used to override Drawing and Feature Settings, and to set the defaults for specific commands/tools. Configuring the Command Settings in your drawings and templates can simply the use of Civil 3D tools and help enforce CAD standards.
In this video you will learn how to create a Property Set in Civil 3D. Property Sets can be used in many ways, including appending data to AutoCAD and Civil 3D objects, extracting information from objects, and creating schedules.
In this video you will learn how to create a pre-populated list for manual property definitions in Property Sets. Lists are helpful to ensure consistency and restrict options for manual property definitions. List are created and assigned in the Property Sets Style Manage
In this video you will learn how to assign a property set to Civil 3D object. Property sets can be assigned to AutoCAD and Civil 3D objects manually or using an automatic option. You can assign and/or remove a property set to/from an individual object or a selection set of object
In this video you will learn how to add a Property Definition from a Property Set into a Civil 3D label. To add a Property Set into a Civil 3D label you must use the Label Style Composer and Text Component Editor.
In this video you will learn how to copy a Property Set between drawing files. Reference Templates can be used with Property Sets to load into production drawings, or the Property Sets can be copied into your templates using the Style Manage
