Learn to start crochet amigurumi with the magic circle, avoiding center holes by shaping a tight circle and working continuous rounds with markers for accurate increases.

Craft Dave the dog's body from a magic circle, through phased increases to 54 stitches, then practice invisible versus standard decreases, secure the eyepatch, and stuff for a plush finish.
This lecture will show you how to work Dave's legs, including how to work into the blo (back loop) of the stitch, to give you a flat surface.
Finish Dave the dog by forming a black yarn nose and mouth, securing the ears and eyes, and weaving ends through the body for a sturdy, well-secured figure.

This course introduces you to the world of crochet amigurumi.
Amigurumi has become a really popular technique in crochet and it is used to create animals, dollies and other wonderful and cute characters
This course is perfect for those who know the basic crochet stitches, however I have also included tutorials on how to do the stitches needed so it would be suitable for complete beginners.
Together we will work our way through a basic amigurumi pattern to create Dave the Dog. I will show you how to work the magic circle to start your project, how to work the single crochet stitch, how to increase and decrease your stitches (both standard decreases and the invisible decrease) and how to read a crochet pattern.
I love teaching crochet and teach it regularly across the UK, in person, online and at yarn events. I love the mindful aspects that crochet can bring, to help us switch off from the busy world and also create some beautiful and fun projects.
I hope you enjoy completing this course and creating your first ever Amigurumi project. I would love to see your finished Dave the Dogs!
