Creative Violin, The New Violin Method 1: Basics, Lesson 1-2

A violin needs to be tuned every time you start playing.
You can use a tuning device as described in my video "Tuning the violin".
If you want to tune your violin by ear, great choice!

Take your time for these, they are important for a good start with the violin.

After you are done with the 3 basics video’s you are ready for Lesson 1a, 1b and 1c".
Here we will discuss bowing and first fingering on half notes.

After watching the lessons 1a, 1b and 1c you can start playing Exercise 1 and 2.

Learn the notes of fingers 1 and 2.

We will make small melodies with the notes we know, open string, 1st and 2nd finger.

Let's do this together.

In this lesson we will already push the tempo up a notch, playing separate quarter notes.
Learn to play them legato: smooth bowing, but also portato: a bit lighter, with little "gaps" in between
