Description

This beginner’s course will teach creative and general coders alike about the basics of creative programming, also know as creative coding, using the free and open source P5.js JavaScript library. Generative art, also known as code art and algorithmic art is becoming very popular among coders. You don’t need any prior programming knowledge to learn creative coding, that's what this course is for. You just need a web browser and the internet. We will be using the free P5.js online editor for our creative coding, which is a fun and easy way to visually learn how to code art. You will learn, by following step by step lessons, how to make your own algorithmic art. Using what you have learned in this course, you will make your own code art in your web browser and download it to your computer. Along the way, you will learn the foundations of programming or coding. You will learn how to draw shapes on the canvas, then add color to the shapes and finally use randomness to add interest to your code art. The final project will be to code a one-of-a-kind artwork made up of random shapes with random sizes, colors and positions. The voice over for this course was created with text to speech software.
