Learn how to leverage the power of your (sleeping) dreams
Course contents and overview
The introduction module explains the meaning, value and power of creativity.
After being introduced to your course designer and presenter, Dr. Michael Bloomfield, the question is asked: why be creative? The answer is multi-fold, to do with changes in today’s professional world, creativity’s power to transform your life and the deep connection between creativity and your humanity.
Then you will learn creativity’s proper definition by discovering the Three Aspects of Creativity – the three requisites that every idea must possess to qualify as creative. This will help you understand the essence of creativity better than virtually everyone else on the planet.
Then come the three practical sections:
The Einstein module – five days
The Tolkien module – five days
The Darwin module – five days
Each module will give you a series of straightforward and highly effective practical exercises using your mind and body to stimulate your creativity.
To kick off you will learn the three key learning ingredients that each and every session will utilise, which taken together amount to a concentrated version of how all the great creators of history came up with their world-changing ideas.
You will then learn new insights each day into the nature of creative thought, and you will generate and develop a variety of ideas over the course of multiple sessions of immersive imagination.
One additional dimension that will be crucial to your creative journey is to activate your dreaming brain, which will add to the effectiveness and meaningfulness of your experience.
Who this course is for:
- Anyone seeking personal and professional development
- Anyone who feels they don’t think very creatively but would like to
- Creators (entrepreneurs, writers, artists and more) who already do creative work and want to improve their creative intelligence further
- Anyone curious about creativity, how it works in the brain and how to access it
Instructor
Dr. Michael Bloomfield the co-founder of Creative Being, the world’s first organisation to make publicly available systematic, science-based mind-body methodologies to increase anyone’s creative intelligence, creative work, and creative self.
Michael is a leading creativity expert. A cognitive anthropologist, he has a PhD from the University of East London, where he is a former lecturer. Michael’s ideas on creativity have been published in the Guardian newspaper and he has run Guardian Masterclasses in how to unlock your creative potential. He has given numerous talks on creativity and innovation to global organisations including IBM, Barclays Bank, Deloitte and Pernod Ricard, among others.
As a scientist, Michael brings his knowledge of cutting-edge research to bear on the problem of creativity – what it is, what prevents it, and how to increase it. Through his 30-year research journey, Michael has developed the world’s first grand unified theory of creativity, Cusp Theory, which was outlined in his 2015 book The Creativity Code and further developed his 2021 book Creative Being. In addition, Michael has developed first systematic method for increasing anyone’s creative intelligence, called Kermanu. This system forms the basis for his unique creative brain training app, Creative Being, and his many practical teachings.
As an anthropologist, Michael strongly believes we can learn profound lessons from indigenous and ancient cultures; that understanding how humans have survived, adapted and thrived throughout human history (and prehistory) can help us understand how to think inventively and imaginatively to maximise our enormous potential. Michael is a full member of the Association of Social Anthropologists of the UK and Commonwealth.
Michael has several outlets for his own creativity. He is an artist, musician, screenwriter and filmmaker, in addition to his inventive research in the area of creativity itself. He lives in London and, obviously, supports Liverpool FC.
