Valerie Burrows is a WELL Accredited Professional which recognizes her mastery of the numerous factors that affect the health and wellbeing of buildings occupants.
WELL was launched in October 2014 upon a Bill Clinton Initiative and was developed by integrating several years of scientific and medical research and literature on environmental health, behavioral factors, health outcomes and demographic risk factors that affect health with leading practices in building design, construction and management.
WELL is the premier standard for buildings, interior spaces and communities seeking to implement, validate and measure features that support and advance human health and wellness. WELL is to health what GREEN is to energy.
Ms. Burrows is the owner of Viv Spaces, a company created to help everyone feel better when working using affordable biophilic design solutions.
Ms. Burrows is a co-chair of the Design and Well-being committee of the DC Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Prior to founding Viv Spaces, Ms. Burrows was in finance and oversaw the facilities budget of the International Monetary Fund headquarters in Washington, DC. This experience led her to her current passion - improving workplace quality putting occupants first and focusing on natural, sustainable solutions.
She holds an MBA and is a certified interior re-decorator. She lives in DC with her husband and is the proud mother of 3 adult boys.
