Work through creating a game asset in cinema 4d by importing geometry, editing with knife and bevel, applying subdivision, splitting parts, and cloning components to refine the model.
Add extras and refine selections in cinema 4d, scale adjustments, and split pieces as you finish the modelling step, then prepare the model for substance painter in the next tutorial.
Begin with Substance Painter by downloading free materials from Substantia, then copy and paste those files into the project directory to start.
Import textures from Substance Painter into Cinema 4D, convert and replace default materials, chain diffuse, metallic, normal, and roughness maps to Octane materials, and optimize lighting with environment.
Create a post apocalyptic weapon in Cinema 4D by importing models, using a transparent background, and duplicating and scaling components.
In CH2 part 2, create and refine a shape by adjusting radii, extruding, and selecting outer points, then scale and orient the geometry before exporting to substance painter.
Apply materials and textures to the model using Cinema 4D and Substance Painter, assigning Supernova and artificial leather, adjusting to the highest resolution, and exporting to Unity or other engines.
Cinema 4d is a great tool for creating a high detailed and clean models, along side with susbtance painter , we will be able to produce 2 Game assets , a Japanese sword and a Post-apocalyptic Saw .
This course will be divided into 2 chapters .
In CHAPTER 1 : We will start by blocking out our model ( the japanese sword ) we will cover the modeling process step by step , and will discover some techniques and tools that will help us to control our polygon , After finishing the modeling we will learn how to prepare it for texturing inside substance painter , by making the uv unwrapping , after that we will jump into substance painter , we will learn how to apply materials properly to get a nice and clean textured model , will also see how to make effects ( alphas for exemple ) , Finally after getting our model ready we will export these textures and we will be ready for our last step , which is Importing these textures back to cinema 4d , and for this part a 3rd party plugin ( octance render will be needed ) we will learn how to import these textures into cinema 4d .
In CHAPTER 2 : we will be going throught the same process but with a another model , will learn how to creat a baseball bat and a saw following simple tricks , finishing by splitting some parts that will not have the same texture later in substance painter , then making the uv unwrapp , then will apply our materails and texutres in substance painter like we did in the first chapter , Please note that in this chapter there will not be an octane render part .
