Develop abilities such as fireball and healing spells with area of effect; create animation blueprints for player and AI and health bar with a standard bar in third-person setup.
Learn to set up a third-person Unreal Engine project, import and retarget animations, migrate RPG training assets, and organize textures and particles to implement a fireball ability.
Configure upper body and full body slots in the animation blueprint, and use a layered blend per bone to play the fireball montage while the character continues moving.
Create a fireball ability by using animation slots and montage, spawn a fireball via an anim notify at the left hand socket, and configure collision and projectile movement.
Finish the fireball collision, trigger a random stun montage on the master AI when hit, and explode and destroy on impact, while setting up AI blueprints.
Implement a non-spam fireball casting delay by gating with an AI is attacking flag, then set up AI health, fireball damage, and death/ragdoll logic for testing.
Build a player health and stamina heads-up display in Unreal Engine using a widget blueprint, binding health and stamina bars to character variables and implementing a stamina check before spells.
Set up health and stamina regeneration using event tick, with per-second health and faster stamina updates, and add a heal spell using a particle effect and animation montage.
Design an unreal engine area-of-effect attack by launching a fireball that explodes to damage enemies in a radius, and prototype a lightning projectile with a damage sphere and particles.
Develop and fine-tune an area-of-effect lightning projectile for multiplayer, spawning from the player with control rotation and camera alignment, and adjust gravity, speed, and stamina.
Often times, learning a new game engine can be difficult, especially when it comes to Unreal Engine 4. Unreal Engine 4 makes your effect games stand out, as long as you know how to properly use it.
This course will teach you exactly how to use it. The lectures course starts off with the basics. It teaches you how to implement the basics to create great effect that are real to the human mind. From there, you are taught simple, clear concepts. That way it’s easy to follow and Unreal Engine 4 becomes much easier to use.
The best part is, you will use the concepts learned for every single game FX that you will ever develop. You will even discover and love using the difficult feature, the marketplace. While others (who didn’t take the course) will find that feature hard to maneuver.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
Apply what you learned to build your own effect games.
Organize your effect game development to make your workflow not only quality but faster.
Make use of Unreal’s blueprints to expand on every game and create new mechanic which works in your game.
What’s more? If you struggle with programming and coding, you are in luck! This course gives you examples upon examples guiding you through the fundamentals of Blueprint programming. So that in little to no time, you will be able to make magic with Blueprints.
You will finally get a course that teaches you how to build a game, from A to Z. When you are done, you will know how to make quality 3D that sets you apart.
