Hello, my name is Andrew Thompson and in this short video I'll introduce you to the two main sections of my course 'How to Crank Out High Converting Squeeze Pages in Record Time (for yourself or for profit)'.
In this video I'll explain what a squeeze page is and what it is specifically used for. I'll explain how to entice visitor's to give you what you want before they leave the page and how you make this all work technically without having to install any software on your server.
In this audio lecture learn what the advantages are to using squeeze pages in combination with your regular website or your blog. Understand their purpose to help 'warm up' traffic that comes to your website and why building an email list is key to building up a rapport and trust with your audience.
In this video I explain some of the ethical tricks and design tweaks you can employ to help your squeeze pages convert better (by convert I mean turning visitors into subscribers to your email list). I'll go into detail about what a conversion rate is, how to calculate yours and what kind of rate you should aim for. Plus I'll also tell you what a typical squeeze page should contain and what it should not.
A brief introduction to the Primed Squeeze Page Framework with a look at some demo pages built with it. You can download the framework from the download section of this lecture on the right hand side of the screen.
Here I'll go through downloading and extracting the Primed Framework. I'll go through the file structure and open up the default squeeze page in a browser so we can take a peek at all the features. I'll demonstrate it's responsiveness on tablet and mobile devices plus show you what it will look like in an old browser such as IE8.
In this audio lecture I'll talk about what makes an image suitable for your squeeze page background and where to find great images you can legally use (even images you can use for free!) Don't forget to check out my PDF called 'The Ultimate List Of Free Photo Websites' in the download section of this lecture.
In this lecture you'll learn how to find a background image, decide on it's size and apply image compression to decrease it's file size. We'll talk briefly about how to edit the HTML and CSS files then we'll pretend we are creating a squeeze page for a ficticious photography business and prepare a suitable background image to use in the Primed Framework.
In this video I'll show you how to find on the internet great color schemes for your squeeze pages and the values you'll need to enter into the code to color Primed to your liking. I'll show you how to create a completely new color scheme CSS file easily and quickly and apply it to the page. Plus, we'll look at color overlays and transparency.
Now we pay attention to the main content area of the squeeze page. I'll demonstrate how by making simple one word edits you can alter the width of the content on the page and move it's position from the center to either the left or to the right.
We concentrate now on customizing the popup optin form. Changing the headline and sub-headline text is easy and doesn't require explanation but in this video I'll show you how to change the image in the popup. This can be a product image or otherwise.
The last step in customising this squeeze page template is probably the most important and that is integrating the form code provided by your chosen email autoresponder service so that Primed actually functions and does the job it is designed to do - capture email addresses and add them to a hosted email list. Our example uses form code supplied by GetResponse but integrating code from other email list providers should be very similar.
UPDATE 2018: This video has been completely re-recorded to take into account the massive interface update that GetResponse launched last year. The form creation process has been overhauled and the code it now produces is even leaner and cleaner making the whole integration process even easier!
If you want to remove the 'name' field from the pop-up form then you'll find instructions in a PDF which is downloadable below. You'll also find a version of Primed which has the code edits already made to display the pop-up form with only the 'email' form field. Download 'Primed-Email-Only.zip' below.
Fullscreen video backgrounds are very popular right now and it is very easy to add one to this squeeze page framework. In this video I'll walk you through the demo that ships with the framework and explain how background videos work in Primed and the things you need to be aware of.
If the option of a headline and sub-headline isn't enough and you wish to also add a video to the page then that is explained here. I'll show you how to take a video from YouTube and create an embed link that you can paste into the Primed framework. I'll demonstrate the options available to you and show you how to get it working in all modern browsers including Internet Explorer using a clever jQuery plugin.
So, you have the Primed Squeeze Page Framework and you now know how it works and how to customize it. Now you can earn money creating squeeze pages for others using Primed and advertise your services on micro job websites such as Fiverr.com.
This course is suitable for anyone who needs to quickly crank out a squeeze page or opt-in landing page without starting from scratch or hiring an expensive web designer.
With it you'll get my squeeze page framework which I've called Primed.
Firstly I'll talk about the components that make up a squeeze page. I'll explain in detail how you entice visitor's to give you what you want before they leave the page and how you make this all work technically without having to install any software on your server.
Following on from that I'll explain the key benefits to building an email list and divulge some of the ethical tricks and design tweaks you can employ to help your squeeze pages turn visitors into subscribers to your email list. I'll go into detail about what a conversion rate is, how to calculate yours and what kind of rate you should aim for.
Next up we'll concentrate on the squeeze page template you get free with this course.
I'll explain every feature of this framework in a step by step fashion - from changing colors to adding video to the page. You'll see just how easy this template is to customize without you needing to have detailed knowledge of HTML, CSS or Javascript. I'll even show you how to integrate the page with an autoresponder service such as GetResponse.
If you are a web designer (at any level) then you can take this framework and hack it to suit your needs. For beginners and non-web coders by the end of this course you can have a beautiful fully functional squeeze page that is ready to upload to your web server.
