Description

In this course you will gain knowledge and understanding of my doctoral capstone experience. I had the opportunity to work with Heartland AEA and teachers and students at the Waukee Community School District Community Transition Center (CTC).  This presentation will educate viewers on self-regulation and social skills with transition aged youth (youth ages 18-21 years), and how self-regulation and social skills are relevant life skills to address with this population. This course will also educate viewers on my doctoral capstone experience at the Waukee CTC working with transition aged youth within the school system. Multiple objectives were developed for the capstone experience. The objectives and the associated artifacts are discussed as part of this presentation. This course contains a lecture, resources, and research articles which support the development of social skills and self-regulation skills with the transition age population. The development of this course is based on research conducted prior to the start of the doctoral capstone experience. Citations are noted on slides, as well as multiple reference slides added at the end of this presentation. Please enjoy this course and feel free to message me with any questions you may have on this subject and presentation. Thank you for watching.
